This home {circa 1850} has become a 4 star B&B as rated by Canada Select and Nova Scotia Approved. We are proud to say we have worked diligently to achieve #1 rating on tripadvisor for the past 6 years. We have also worked very hard to establish a financially lucrative business and this turn-key enterprise is now for sale.

Bookings for 2020 have been streaming in and Fisherman’s Daughter has expanded into weddings on site as well. A backyard flagstone area with lush gardens and a pergola is an amazing backdrop to the weddings we host.

Captain's Quarters Gull's Nest

The Fisherman’s Daughter B&B welcomes you with eight colourful Adirondack chairs that guests absolutely love. Overlooking Mahone Bay, this is a favourite spot for guests to read a book, have a glass of wine, or just watch the world go by. A private deck located at the side of the home with a comfortable sitting area covered by a pergola, is also popular for sunbathing or a quiet nook just to relax.

Built in 1850 and once owned by Henry Schnare, a well respected shipbuilder, this two story Gothic Revival Heritage Home boasts the gentility and warmth of days gone by with original hardwood floors and a cozy wood burning fireplace. Four spacious guest rooms (3 upstairs and one on the main floor) all have private ensuites. Tastefully decorated and with all the modern conveniences that travellers desire, each room has air conditioning, fibre op televisions and wireless internet.

Private accommodations for the Innkeepers consists of a 1.5 story carriage house steps away from the main house. An onsite paved parking lot accommodates six cars and a large barn on the property allows for additional storage.

Mahone Bay and surrounding areas have a vibrant community including renowned authors, film makers, artists, musicians, intellects and wonderfully creative, dedicated citizens. Guests can easily park the car and take a stroll through town, where you'll experience unique shops, art galleries, coffee houses, restaurants and museums. For outdoor adventure you don't have to go far for a hiking trail, sailing outing, kayaking excursion or to find a beach.

Dining Room Fireplace and Living Room

This is the perfect location from which to explore Nova Scotia's diversified breath-taking South Shore. Many guests use our B&B as a base for their day trips to various sights and activities locally as well as other parts of the province since it is only 60 mins to Halifax or the Valley, 50 mins to Peggy's Cove and 10 mins to Lunenburg.

Upgrades in the last two years, include a updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new roof, new fibreglass oil tank, hot water tanks, and insulation added to the exterior walls. Carriage house.... a new pergola with Soft Tub for the owners quarters.

We have had so much fun meeting guests from around the world and making new friends, however, family obligations in another province has made us reluctantly put The Fisherman’s Daughter B&B for sale.
