Cycle & Stay South Georgian Bay B&B Association

Cycling in South Georgian Bay has become a place where each and every level of cyclist can accomplish his/her goals whilst enjoying all that the area has to offer. There is now a choice for any cyclist to make a weekend or a holiday into a reality. With ‘Cycle B&B South Georgian Bay’ one will enjoy the warm hospitality of your Bed & Breakfast hosts after a long ride. With so many attractions in the area and unique communities to see, it may take several outings in order to take in all the sights. Although we are unable to determine the weather, your hosts will be a wealth of information with regard to activities to be enjoyed. Cycling in the Spring, Summer and Fall are each unique times of the year in our area and we invite you explore the many scenic routes with a friend or a group. The Bed & Breakfasts in this Association all have adequate parking, secure cycle lock-up and repair kits.

Amazing trails

Cycle routes along the shore of Georgian Bay are a natural delight and allow for a cooling swim along the way or a chance to kayak, paddle board or just take it easy on the beach. Scenic cycle routes also pass through Beaver Valley into Eugenia Falls.

The Georgian Trail is for those wanting a leisurely ride. It can be accessed from many places along its route but is 30kms from Collingwood to Meaford, skirting the Bay and is flat all the way. The Pretty River Valley route is very much enjoyed by those liking a gentle challenge but for those training for the annual Centurion Race in September, then the endurance of highway 19 from Blue Mountain up to highway 2 is a winner! Meandering on the back roads of Glen Huron to Creemore is another wonderful adventure, especially at the end where the Brewery of “Creemore Springs” awaits.

For those wanting more of a ‘downhill’ adventure on a mountain bike then Blue Mountain with its varied terrain is the place to go. All the biking gear including bikes can be hired at the mountain.

The towns of Wasaga Beach, Nottawa, Collingwood, The Village at Blue, Thornbury and Meaford are bike accessible and each of the tourist offices are happy to supply the traveler with all the information on their area.
