My partner and two friends rented two rooms at the Georgian Manor for one night as part of a multi-day cycling trip in Grey County. Our stay was really great! This BnB is cyclist-friendly, and Sid and Louise were really wonderful hosts. Sid took the time to provide us with cycling tips and insider info on the various roads and trails, which made our trip that much easier and more enjoyable. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, and the breakfast was tasty and filling -- which is important for day of cycling. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at the Georgian Manor several times over the years for weeklong art workshops in Thornbury and have always found it wonderful. Being able to get a packed lunch each day has been an added bonus. The grounds are gorgeous for sitting or strolling through - inspirational and relaxing. Lots of amenities and fabulous food, of course. Sid and Louise know the area well and can fill you in on things to see and do.

- Sue Miller, from North Bay, Ontario 30 January 2018

Spent two nights at this beautiful Victorian B&B with Sid and Louise as our hosts. Great location to downtown eateries and the bike trail. Our room was large with a full ensuite - claw foot tub and walk-in shower. Tasty full breakfast that was different each day - made by Louise and served by Sid. Would highly recommend this B&B.

Dear Sid and Louise,

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your lovely B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed your home, hospitality, location and meeting Lainie and Frank and Mike and Ruth. We were really concerned we wouldn’t find a place during the Elvis festival as we planned on attending on such short notice.. but thankfully, and to our advantage, your place was available and we had a wonderful time.

Thanks again for your gracious hospitality. We would like to return in the winter perhaps and enjoy the Blue Mountain Village while staying at your place.

Have a wonderful rest of the summer!

We stayed overnight on New Year's Eve, and we had a very positive experience. We had the Queen Anne Room, which was large and comfortable and clean. The bathroom was particularly nice: it was huge, as big as a bedroom, with a clawfoot tub and a separate shower. I wish that we'd stayed a little longer than just one night, but we'll definitely book again. Thank you!

August 17,18 2013 my wife and i were in Thornbury for the antique show and chose to stay at a B&B for our first time, we were pleasantly surprised at how great it is vs. a hotel. Sid and Louise where gracious hosts and have a beautiful home with great attention to detail in every room, they have a great collection of antiques, our room was very nice and spacious with a huge beautiful ensuite. In the morning it was great to smell breakfast cooking, and to come down to the dining room to a very nice healthy breakfast was nice and very tasty. We have told many friends and family about this great place and will be back soon. Regards Steve & Debbie Knott Dundas

Again we just want to thank Sid and Louise for their amazing hospitality, during our stay. You truly have a gorgeous home ,in a spectacular area. It was calm, peaceful, and quiet. Just what we needed for a holiday getaway. Also breakfast was phenomenal! I loved that we were able to take muffins to go and thanks again for the advice to get to the spa early. Thanks again for the great memories. And we will definitely be come back up that way again, within the new year!

27 July 2012 I would like to thank our gracious hosts, Sid and Louise McFarlane, for the welcome they gave my parents and me during our stay in their beautiful Bed and Breakfast this summer. We had a wonderful holiday in the peace and quiet of Thornbury and particularly enjoyed sitting out in Louise's glorious garden - reading and relaxing. Sid's hot breakfasts were delicious and very filling. Guests will enjoy the beautiful authentically and tastefully decorated rooms and the lovely watercolours by Louise's mother. I would strongly recommend the Georgian Manor to anyone seeking a restful stay in the charming town of Thornbury and hope I can return sometime soon.

Friends invited us to their 25 years wedding party just outside Thornbury, located at the Geogian Bay and close to Blue Mountain. We looked for a good B&B and choose for a 2 nights stay at Georgian Manor. This we did not regret. The owners Sid and Louise turned out to be very friendly, interested and helpful. The house was atmospheric furnished and clean. We had a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast was very tasty, prepared with dedication by Sid. The beautiful garden was Louise's pride. Especially the wide range of lily's. Our complements, we loved it.

Sid and Louise, thank you for all. We had a great time.

- Jeannette & Herman Philipse, from Gennep, The Netherlands 9 August 2011

Louise and Sid, thanks for a wonderful long weekend at your home, we were so comfortable in the warm surroundings. We especially loved the wonderful hospitality, the tour of the gardens and the house filled with art and pottery. Spending time in the gift shop was an experience just as lovely as any store in the village. Beautifully done and highly recommended!

Here you enjoy the total experience - great hosts, delicious food, comfortable beds (we have tried both beds)- amid gorgeous surroundings. Who wouldn't love to stay at such a perfect destination? See you next time, Sid and Louise.

Our stay at Georgian Manor was wonderful as it brought back many childhood memories. The home was previously owned by my aunt and uncle and the present owners, Sid and Louise have brought new life and energy through their restorations and creative talents. The home is beautifully appointed with antiques and comfortable furniture. Lush gardens and trees enhance the picturesque setting. Their hospitality, excellent accommodation, superbe breakfasts and attention to detail ensure a realxing and comfortable stay in this Victorian, stately home.

- Linda and Howard Rafuse, from Burlington, Ontario 6 July 2010

As all the other reviews indicate, this B & B is fabulous! The beautifully renovated Georgian home of Louise and Sid is also wonderfully welcoming. It is surrounded by absolutely beautiful gardens. The bedrooms are fresh, clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I have stayed several times on my own, but also with my family. Everyone has been thoroughly comfortable and delighted with our stay. And I haven't even mentioned the delicious yet healthy breakfasts, and the incredibly warm hospitality of Louise & Sid. In short, this B & B is a real gem set in a beautiful Ontario town...definitely worth a visit!

Mille mercis pour toutes les attentions que vous nous avez portées lors de notre séjour chez vous

Our stay at Georgian Manor was relaxing and rejuvenating. Thornbury's restaurants, attractions, the Georgian Trail and the beach are all a short walk away. After all that excitement, a super comfy bed awaits. Breakfast service at Georgian Manor really spoiled us -- warm blueberry muffins, poached eggs, smoked salmon! Yum! And Sid serving it up in his fancy apron really made it special! A garden enthusiast could spend a whole afternoon in Louise's yard. A wonderful place to lose yourself. Sid & Louise have beautifully restored the home and have kept its stories alive. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
