Ruth and Ian are amazing hosts. The breakfast...delicious, our room...super comfortable. There is not one thing that could be improved on...well, except for Ruth to move to Alberta and continue making the wonderful breakfasts that my husband got accustomed during our stay!!! Thank you so much Ruth and Ian for all your help and making our stay truly memorable!

My name is Aimee Ford, recently I was traveling from the Chicago-land area (Illinois/United States) to Florenceville Canada in New Brunswick for my employer McCain Foods. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Tannaghtyn Bed & Breakfast. It was well marked, and sat away from the main road- high on a picturesque rolling hill. Upon my arrival, I was quickly impressed with how well the grounds were kept and meticulously manicured. My delight continued as I approached the main walk and front door, I felt as though I was walking onto an esteemed estate. Once inside, I was greeted immediately with a friendly voice and smile. From the grand foyer my eyes gazed upon an enchanting oak staircase leading upstairs, and warm colorful decor. The staff portrayed the kind of welcoming spirit that is rare today. During my stay, I experienced a pristine level of cleanliness. While at the Tannaghtyn I had the pleasure of seeing a few different types of guests during my stay; quiet/reserved, outgoing & adventurous & strict/professional. Regardless of the guest and their needs, the staff seemed delighted and willing to make each guest experience the best it could be. The surrounding area was like stepping back in time. There is a quaint/old time feel of the local towns and community. While taking in the sites I could not help but feel as though I was driving in a postcard! My candid photos of the countryside could be mistaken for professional photographs, because of the natural beauty of the land. The staff was knowledgeable about the area, its history/folklore and area recommendations, (i.e. after visiting the world’s largest covered bridge, was delighted to learn how it also became known as the “kissing bridge”). The owner Ruth Giberson (and her husband) could easily be asked as a guest on any culinary arts achievements show/article. Their coffee is simply the best I have ever tasted, (rich robust gourmet flavor)! The breakfast could not be compared with anything I have ever had. Breakfast was served daily on elegant chinaware in a formal dining room setting, strangely with the decor and surroundings it held a warm cottage feel. Their attention to detail is unheard of, (i.e. a small component of the award-worthy breakfast may include a parfait; complete with a layer of homemade applesauce, fresh yogurt, local handpicked berries, and topped with pan roasted and crushed almonds and a smidge of homemade preserves). I would highly recommend the Tannaghtyn to anyone. I have already suggested this specific location to my friends and co-workers. I feel comfortable with the recommendations as I am confident they will receive the same level of service and accommodations I did! I will be back for another visit soon – without a doubt! All the rooms are delightful, well decorated, spacious, & decorated warmly! I never slept better! -A. Ford, Illinois/United States (June 2013)

I have been so lucky to stay at the Tannaghtyn many times during buisness travel. I always tried to schedule my trips around open reservations, do not want to stay anywhere else. Ruth and Ian are such delightful hosts, you will love them! I am always so excited when I get to travel back to the NB area and stay there

Ruth and Ian,

I hope you had a nice day in Fredericton - and you shopped lots Ruth. I wanted to thank-you for being incredible hosts last week during my stay at Tannaghtyn. It truly was like being at home and you make staying at your house so comfortable - and are so easy to be with. Ruth, your flexibility to provide my delicious and correct breakfasts was so appreciated - and so beautifully presented. Ian, letting me know you would be there if I needed you in the storm, putting my car in the garage and the special gift of you starting the car in freezing weather was going beyond the call of duty --- but when I got into a warm car - very much appreciated.

It goes without saying the house is beautiful, and the rooms so comfortable. It is so easy to get lost in the beds and as you know, I am already addicted to the soap!!!! Even the company of Ben and Jerry was appreciated.

When I left yesterday morning, I felt I was leaving new friends - and hope that I get more work so I can come back and stay.

Please let me know if you are coming to Toronto.

Best regards,

We were the very first couple to get married at the Tannaghtyn, it was Sept of 2006. Ruth and Ian made it the most amazing day of our lives, Our guests commented many times that it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to. Since our wedding Day I understand that they have held many weddings at the Tannaghyn, so I am positive that there are so many newly married couples with nothing but glowing reviews of thier day. Our wedding pictures couldn't have turned out more beautiful if they had been painted in a fairytale.
