We had the most wonderful stay at Captain’s Legacy – an exceptional B&B and the hosts, John and Addie, could not have been more welcoming or offered better hospitality. We felt like family from the minute we stepped in the door to this comfortable home. There are so many details in place to ensure we had a great time. The room/bed was lovely and the many common areas (living room, porch, rocky beach) provided wonderful spots to enjoy the bits of time when we weren’t exploring the area. And – the amazing breakfasts were – well, amazing! French toast, fluffy fruit pancakes, eggs, fruit, juice, great coffee – and John’s scones (to die for). Such a warm, friendly and fun place to stay. We highly recommend Captain’s Legacy and hope to return some day.

We stayed in the Mate's room on the main floor -- it was a smaller room, but met our needs very well. The bed was comfortable, and the area quiet. John & Addie made us feel totally at home in their heritage home. Breakfasts were tasty. We will plan to stay here again when we visit Twillingate

This place deserves all the praise it gets. The rooms are cozy and spatious, the food ist stunning and Addie and John have a lot to tell about the loaction they chose three years ago as a kind of preliminary retiremnt.

Absolutely fantastic! So many "little touches" that showed how much effort is put into the running of this lovely B&B. High quality sheets, lovely bathrobes, good quality shampoos, beautiful decorating touches, superb advice regarding where to eat --- the list of what they do right goes on and on. We had to leave by 7:00 a.m. in the morning, and they accommodated us with a hot breakfast at 6:30. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

First class B & B. Superb accommodation and breakfasts. Friendly knowledgeable couple.

This was our favorite B & B on our 26 day trip to N.S., PEI and Newfoundland. John and Addy are amazing. They make you feel at home so much that we actually hung out their a few hours in the afternoon. The breakfast was great, especially the scones. We had the room with the ocean view, although a little small, we loved it. Considering the age of this B & B, decorated like you are back in time, with impeccable taste. Thank you so much for the great welcoming and all the recommendations you provided our group to attend.

- Sue, from Alberta 26 August 2015

We would certainly reserve again at the Captain's Legacy and recommend the place without any doubt.

We stayed 2 nights at the Captain's Legacy. Both John and Addie were attentive to our needs and gave us good hints on the attractions, hiking trails and restaurants. We had a lovely room with the view on the ocean. We had a wonderful time and breakfast with John's special treat.

We stayed at Captain's Legacy for two nights and really enjoyed our experience here. I require a gluten free menu and this can be a challenge when traveling. Not a problem at this B&B. Rita is an excellent cook and makes great pancakes-from scratch. Great hosts and a nice atmosphere.I recommend this B&B.

- Lorraine Comber, from Brandon Mb. 5 September 2014

Spent 2 nights here early June. Beautiful location and view. Rita and Ron very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great. We really appreciated the choice of amount and kind of food for breakfast. Would recommend this B&B to others.

This was our first stay at the Captain's Legacy. Our hosts, Ron and Rita, have been nothing short of amazing. From our first day, they welcomed us into their home and provided us with impeccable and pleasurable service. Most notably, when we arrived, we had asked them about iceberg tours as ours had been cancelled (certainly due to a lack of icebergs). Rita was kind enough to call one of her friends who offered to take us out on his fishing boat (Dave Boyd of Prime Berth) where we had a most thrilling and unbelievable time helping him to clear his herring nets. Rita's call truly made our trip even more memborable and is a perfect example of the "above and beyond" service that we received during our stay.

The B&B itself is very cute, VERY clean and wonderfully decorated. I must say, however, that breakfast has been one of my most favourite parts of our trip; every morning we are greeted by a warm smile, fresh baked treats from the oven, excellent and hot coffee and a scrumptious meal that is made to order. On top of the delicious food, the best part of breakfast is the warm and entertaining conversation with Ron and Rita.

It is quite rare to be able to enter someone's home (business or not) and feel as though you are not intruding. Ron and Rita have mastered the art of making people feel at ease as you sit beside them on their couch and watch Jeopardy or a movie of the week. It has been such a pleasure staying at the Captain's Legacy and we will assuredly make another venture to the far east of Canada to spend a few more days here.

If ever you have the opportunity to stay in Twillingate, ensure that Ron and Rita's Captain's Legacy, is the only place that you say.

We arrived at this wonderful B&B late afternoon. Ron greeted us and showed us to our room. It was a beautiful room overloking the harbour. We sat outside with the other guests enjoying the weather , the view and the great company from our new found friends. We went out for dinner and when we came back we were asked to join Ron & Rita(our Hosts) and the other guests for a night of wonderful stories of Newfoundland. Rita also told us about her Mother who is 93 who still wears stilettos. We went to bed, and in the morning we had a wonderful breakfast(we each completed a menu the night before). We were sorry we had to leave and hope to go back again in the near future.

This is a fabulous B&B in a beautiful location right on the water. Rita and Ron were terrific hosts and made us feel very welcome. We certainly enjoyed their company and they offered some great recommendations on what to see and do in Twillingate. Our accommodations were awesome. We stayed two nights in the Captain's Quarters room, which was a really great room with decor to match its name. Twillingate is quaint and very friendly, as are Rita and Ron. Two thumbs up for this B&B!!!

- Wendy & Craig, from Winnipeg 4 October 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in spite of the weather! Ron & Rita were wonderful hosts, very hospitable & knowledgeable in recommending things to do & see in the area. We highly recommend this B&B & hope to return one day!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the Captain's Quarters room. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Our hosts Ron and Rita are the loveliest hosts. Fabulous breakfasts in a beautiful house. Thanks for the memories!

My husband I travelled back to NF for our 25th anniversary so we could tour the island. We are both from Nfld, but have been away many years and have never been anywhere but the St John's area. We stayed at Captain's Legacy in the Captain's Quarters Room and it was lovely. Our hosts were very nice and held up the tradition of Newfoundlanders being very friendly and their hospitality was great. Our breakfast was great and we were given three choices of what to have. We choose blueberry pancakes and bacon and fruit, along with muffins and the BEST partridge berry scones!! The rooms were quiet and very comfortable and nicely decorated. Thanks for the history of the house, it was very interesting and nice to know. When we return for our next visit to Nfld, we will certainly be booking a room here again. Thanks for making our stay in your neck of the woods an enjoyable one which will be in our memory for a long time.

The moment you step into this incredible home, you understand immediately why it received 4 stars from Canada Select. After that, everything else (the breakfast selections, the view, the comfort of your room, etc.) serves to reinforce your first impression. Ron and Rita are wonderful hosts and like every Newfoundland home I visited, they made me feel right at home. Twillingate itself is a beautiful place and well worth a long stay - problem is that if you stay at the Captain's Legacy B&B while you're there, you won't want to leave.

- Hugh Carola, from Hackensack, NJ 5 September 2008

We stayed at Captain's Legacy Bed and Breakfast on Aguust 11/08. Our hostess, Rita and her husband were very welcoming and professionnal. The room was well decorated with a great view of the harbour of Twillingate. The breakfast was excellent and served with taste. We will recommand their Bed and Breakfast to all including our family and friends. Thanks again for the good night sleep and the wonderful stay.

- Brien and Viviane Wright, from Brampton, Ontario - Canada 20 August 2008

We stayed in the Captain's Room. Wonderful! The room has a great view of the harbour with a lovely little table right by the window. The breakfasts were beautiful and Rita makes the most wonderful fresh baked goodies each day. I would highly recommend this B&B!
