It was my 2nd time at this B&B recently for work and the only thing I regret was not having enough time to enjoy the view, the trails, the animals and sharing more stories with Al and Mary Pat. They are wonderful people, very welcoming and I simply felt spoiled (and we need that sometimes) :) The venue is gorgeous, king size bed helped with a great night of sleep and the breakfast...one of the best part (plus the sunset view)! I am very thankful to have met these people and I hope you get a chance to do the same!

Mary Pat and Alan were the perfect hosts. The breakfast was so good. It was like having breakfast and lunch. Their house is close to Antigonish. We loved staying with them.

- Tish & Gerald, from Canada 9 July 2019

My family and I would stay here at the beginning and end of the university school year. Never felt more welcome or cared for away from home before! Delicious food, cozy rooms and wonderful host and hostess.

- E.D., from Alberta 25 September 2018

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at this lovely B&B. Mary and Pat are delightful hosts and prepare a spectacular breakfast. Our room was very comfortable with nice extras including coffee, tea and cookies. Getting to meet and interact with the alpacas was a highlight ! The location is easy to find being just a short drive from Antigonish and is in a beautiful setting.

- Stephen and Ruth, from Fredericton, NB 17 August 2018

...And I forgot the mention the best part... the alpacas!

- Jennifer Kendall, from Brooklyn, New York 20 November 2017

Azelia Farmhouse hosts, Mary and Al, are two of the nicest people that I have ever met! My family and I stayed here this past weekend when we came to visit my daughter at STFX. The rooms were immaculate, and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend Azelia Farmhouse!!

- Jennifer Kendall, from Brooklyn, New York 20 November 2017

What a wonderful B&B. Mary Pat and Al were great hosts and are the nicest people! Beautiful property with a beautiful view. We had the Azelia room...absolutely clean and comfortable! I have traveled for business for 25 years and have ate too many breakfasts on the road. The breakfast Mary Pat prepared and Al served was...by far...the BEST breakfast I have ever had on the road! I highly recommend Azelia Farmhouse B&B!

- John, from Agoura Hills, CA 30 May 2017

Mary Pat and Al have a lovely home to stay in. They are extremely hospitable and wonderful to talk with. We enjoyed our stay with them in July of 2016 very much. Mary Pat is a great cook. Al is warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and beautiful and have all the necessities you need. They can help point you in the right direction for sightseeing and have all the local menus for you to checkout. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Don't pass it up! Thanks again Mary Pat and Al!

- Andrea Habetz, from Ragley, Louisiana 17 August 2016

About 5 years ago my son and I stayed with Mary Pat and Al for a hockey tournament. I had the best of intentions to write this review when I got home, and life got in the way. Time has in no way diminished the lasting impression of this wonderful home.

This was the first experience for my son and I staying at a B&B- it certainly set the bar high! My son, who was 11 at the time, has requested to stay there again, and always asks first what B&B's might be available when travelling because of our fabulous experience.

The rooms were very comfortable and private, the location was so close to town, yet incredibly quiet and relaxing- absolutely idyllic. The breakfast that Mary Pat prepared was so fresh and delicious- she gave us an amazing range of choices. It even changed the way my son felt about breakfast. Both Mary Pat and Al were so incredibly accommodating. It was absolutely one of the best experiences we've had.

- J. Visser, from Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia 4 March 2016

We've been coming back to this B&B for five years now, and since we first overnighted at Azelia, we've never traveled to Nova Scotia without stopping to stay with Mary Pat and Al. We've even changed our travel schedule to make sure we could get here. They're the nicest folks around, and Mary Pat's a wonderful cook. (Try the oatcakes!)

- Mark and Mary, from Oklahoma 11 July 2015

Don't miss this wonderful B&B. Mary Pat welcomed us every afternoon with fresh baking and tea or iced tea. The room was immaculate and includes air conditioning. Be sure to visit the alpacas with Al. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days here with them and would come back in a heart beat.

- Maureen and Brian Lowery, from Surrey, BC 25 July 2013

We had a spendid time at the Azelia B&B. Mary Pat and Al were incredible hosts and made sure we were always comfortable. Their home is truly spectacular, as is their warmth and generosity. The delicious breakfasts, engaging conversation and their newest puppy were simply terrific!

- Josie, Al and the girls..., from Richmond Hill, ON 12 December 2012

This was our 2nd trip to lovely Nova Scotia and their many B & Bs. This is a Crown Jewel! Mary Pat and Al greet you with open arms and unbelievable hospitality. The accommodations are superior and the setting is so tranquil and beautiful. A babbling brook, alpacas in the field and a 60 mile panoramic view of the valley are spectacular. Coffee, tea and evening cookies are yummy or a glass of chilled wine if you desire. We had the most delicious buckwheat pancakes, blueberry muffins and fresh fruit compete from Mary Pat's wide selection of breakfast choices. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Just wish we could have stayed another night!

- Cesta Newman, from Florida, USA 27 September 2012

Our stay was September 9th 2012. This is by far the Ritz or 4 seasons of bed and breakfasts. From the decor, cleanliness, hospitality, value, scenery. And omg the food. And thank you for knowing how to make a good cup of coffee. I can not make 1 suggestion that would make azaleas a finer place to stay.

- Maura and James romanelli, from Burlington ontario 9 September 2012

We stayed with Mary Pat and Al in 2006 and so enjoyed our visit that we deliberately returned again in June 2012. Their home in the country is fabulous, set against the hills and so serene and quiet. Mary Pat is a marvellous cook. Her smoked salmon eggs benedict is a huge draw for Lew, and I love her maple cream. The addition of the alpacas and llama since our first trip was a real bonus. They are delightful hosts, and we hated to have to leave. We will certainly return should we be back in Nova Scotia.

- Phyllis Johnston and Lew Heuchert, from Saskatoon, Canada 15 July 2012

This was the second time down to see Mary Pat and Al. Wonderul time as usual. Place is spotlessly clean, great beds, spacious rooms, private baths, amazing breakfasts. Great conversation, too! A little off the beaten path but there's not a lot in downtown antigonish anyway! Last time had coffee on the porch and watched the hummingbirds. This time walked the property and visited Al's Alpacas.

- King family, from Ottawa, On 18 April 2012

My wife and I stayed here last summer and it was the highlite of our trip to Nova Scotia. Everything about the experience was a pleasure. We are looking to come back again soon.

- Shawn & Lucie Ferrie, from Brampton, Ontario 7 April 2012

The only bad thing about our stay here was that it was not long enough! The Eggs Benedict were the best we have ever eaten and the warmth of the hosts made us feel at home. Al even greeted us on the front porch. The farmhouse is not only beautiful but immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. We would love to return some day.

- Robin, from Georgia, USA 5 October 2011

On our 6 day visit to Nova Scotia, the Azalea Farmhouse B&B is the only place we stayed that brings back wonderful memories. It's a comfortable B&B with friendly and knowledgable hosts and delicious breakfasts. I would recommend the Azalea for everyone. We will be back!

- Anonymous, from Piedmont, California 17 September 2011

We have a wonderful time here. You couldn't get a better B&B experience than staying at Azelia Farmhouse. We only stayed 2 nights but we wished we could have stayed much longer and considered trying to rearrange our holiday to do so. I read others comments before booking and this was the first place I booked on my trip. We're really glad we didn't miss out.

- Catriona Collins, from Newcastle, Australia 11 September 2011

We loved this B&B the best. Mary Pat and Al were very inviting, warm and generous hosts. We stayed in the Azelia Room (Sept.15, 2010) which was amazing with a huge bathroom & king bed. Breakfast was exceptional. Read all the other testimonials. I would love to have stayed there for a week; it was so calm and relaxing.

- Dave & Leslie K, from Aurora, Ontario 2 October 2010

The Azelia was our first B&B on our 4 week Maritime trip and turned out to be the best. From the tea and carrot cake when we arrived, to the early coffe and newspaper brought to our door by Al, the comfortable King Size bed, huge bathroom and fantastic Eggs Neptune breakfast and of course Mary Pat's wonderful hospitality, we couldn't have asked for a better start. We highly recommend the Azelia.

- Dave and Marian Duke, from Victoria, BC 16 September 2010

We had such an enjoyable experience with Mary Pat and Al. Their B&B is delightful. They are gracious hosts and special people. Mary Pat's breakfast was awesome! My wife raves about her eggs benedict. We highly recommend this delightful B&B as superior in quality and spirit.

- Jim & Dotsy, 3 September 2010

We absolutely loved this Bed and Breakfast. Mary Pat and Al were amazing hosts. Mary Pat provided a gourmet breakfast and was great at suggestions for what to do in town. Al made recommendations for our further travels. The accomodations were one of the best we had seen on our two week trip to the Maritimes. We would highly recommend people stay here.

- Paul and Debbie Markus, from Winnipeg, Manitoba 28 August 2010

Once you visit Mary and Al at the Azelia Farmhouse B&B, you'll never want to stay anywhere else again. They far surpassed our expectations by creating a warm and welcoming place for us. We compared every other place we stayed against Azelia, and nothing could even come close. From Mary's incredible gourmet cooking (Peaches & Cream French Toast two mornings in a row!) to the spacious bedroom and bathroom. It's the perfect stay for anyone visiting Antigonish - if you don't mind the 5-10 minute drive into town from their beautiful property. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

- Steve and Suzanne, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan 20 August 2010

The best B&B we have ever been to. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. The hosts are absolutely wonderful people. Mary is a gourmet cook who provided a menu of many wonderful items to choose from for breakfast. Each day got better and better. Quiet, beautiful location, yet an easy drive to Cape Bretton, PEI, and other parts of Nova Scotia. We would recommend this home to anyone visiting the area.

- Pam and Dan Sanquist, from Grosse Ile, MI 8 August 2010

A charming B&B. The country setting on the side of a high hill makes this B&B very unique and inviting. Mary Pat and Al's warm greeting includedMary Pat's wonderfil carrot cake andtea made with fresh spring water Our morning started with coffe or juice left outside out door and was followed by a fantastic breakfast. We didn't eat for the rest of the day. All of this and very comfortable surroundings makes this one of our favourite B&B's

- Steve & Pat, from Burlington, Ontario 29 July 2010

Our visit was May 20, 2010 for one night. Mary Pat was wonderful and treated us very graciously. Our room was very romantic and had every little thing you could use to make your aty comfortable. Breakfast was unbelievable! Mary Pat had good advice for travel tips to the Cabot Trail as well as the lovely town of Antigonish. We highly recommend a stay here. Elaine & Ralph, Ottawa, Ont.

We certainly enjoyed our visit to Azelia in July 2010. The farmhouse is beautifully renovated, in such a lovely countryside setting, yet close to the town of Antigonish. The Innkeepers, Mary Pat and Al were a delight to talk with and couldn't have provided more hospitality

- Russ and Margo Zink, from Arlington Virginia 26 July 2010

We absolutely loved our short visit to the Azelia Farmhouse in August of 2009. Mary Pat and Al treated us like family and recommended great local restaurants and a play we truly enjoyed. They brought coffee to our room each morning and the breakfast was amazing! We can't wait to stay here again!

- D&N, from Maryland, USA 24 November 2009

Feels like home - abroad. I have stayed at the Azelia Farmhouse B&B recently and it was a pleasure stay. From the warm welcome to the great room with excellent beds and the kind hospitality it felt like home. I received great tips on spots to visit and all the help I needed in getting my vacation experience to a maximum! Mary-Pat and Al have been excellent hosts and I absolutely like to recommend everyone in the Nova Scotia central mainland area to consider this B&B !!! Not to forget the kind conversations and the excellent breakfast in this gem of a B&B...

- Marco Pfeiffer, from Frankfurt Area, Germany 2 October 2009

Azelia Farmhouse is a GEM! Our stay was lovely. Mary and Al are wonderful hosts. Upon arrival, Mary served us tea and carrot cake - such a nice treat after a long day of travelling. Comfortable bed, great information on the Cabot Trail from Al, and wonderful breakfast. We certainly enjoyed the fresh coffee delivered to our room with a little knock on the door in the morning. We will never forget our stay here and will recommend it to anyone we know going that way. Thank you!

- Stephanie and Brad, from Regina, Saskatchewan 29 July 2009

The best of the best! From the beautifully appointed rooms, mouth watering breakfasts and warm and wonderful hosts, Mary Pat and Al, Azelia Farmhouse B & B is a maritime treasure.

- Janice, Tony & Emma Davis, from Calgary, Alberta 27 April 2009

With the clean rooms, good breakfast, quiet settings, warm atmosphere, and etc... I don't think there is any another choice in this part of the province!

- Joe, from Scarborough, ON 2 November 2008

This is a beautiful farmhouse. I returned from there 4 days ago and it was an amazing memory for me to remember as my first time B&B experience. I would like to thank the Host Mary and Al and their warmful heart.

- Sandy Lau, from Markham, Ontario 13 October 2008

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Azelia Farmhouse B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; beautiful setting, delicious food, delightful decor, and warm hospitality characterised our time with our lovely hostess and host. The owners went out of their way to accomodate the needs of our family, and made our first family vacation a huge success. Many thanks, and we certainly will return!

After our travels through NS, Cape Breton, PEI and Fundy Coast this little B&AB stands out amongst the rest. A little out of town - but well worth it!. Mary & Al have tried to think of everything - and the breakfast was THE BEST!! Its worth going out of your way for. Top marks - and no tax! We voted it the best B& B we have stayed in. Val & Vic, Somerset UK.

The Azelia Farmhouse B and B is amazing in all ways. From the warm and kind hosts - Mary and Al - to the quiet location, rooms that are beautiful as well as cozy and the wonderful breakfasts - this is truly an excellent B&B.

I have been to a number of fine B&B's but this one stands out above them all. I have recommended it to friends who have also gone to the Azelia Farmhouse B&B and they were delighted with the recommendation.
