This is a little gem of a B&B, right in the heart of the Golden Mile in Oliver – known as the wine capital of Canada. The location is ideal if you want to explore the dozens of wonderful wineries from this area. Jim & Gudrun are very hospitable hosts. We rented the unit with 1 separate private bedroom with 2 twin beds, a bathroom with shower and another large room comprising of a small but efficient kitchen, an eating nook and a queen bed in that same large area. The breakfast consists of all homemade fresh food, from yoghurt, to preserves, to fresh farm eggs (you are right on the farm). Everything is yummy and served with efficiency; all this topped with great conversation around the breakfast table. This was our second time at this B&B and we will be back for sure. Thanks Jim & Gudrun

A pure coincidence that we found this special B&B and wished we could have stayed longer. The suite was comfy, with a well equipped kitchen. Jim and Gudrun are engaging and as others have said, we could have chatted over breakfast until lunch time! The 6 acre orchard and lovely garden was an oass. Would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful stay! We booked with Gudrun and Jim because 2 other B&B’s nearby did not respond in a timely way to our request for accommodation. We were made very welcome and stayed 3 nights. Sorry to leave this morning. Everything has been thought of, clean, comfortable rooms, facilities and lovely fresh breakfasts (thank you to the chooks) and flowers in the room. Lots of excellent local advice from the hosts as to where to visit, taste, eat, take in the scenery and the local wildlife. Thank you both so much.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this B&B. Gudrun and Jim are terrific hosts- lots of good breakfast conversation and always a delicious meal-the yogurt is outstanding!!! Accommodations are spacious-nothing fancy but extremely neat and clean. We would definitely go back.

This B&B should be documented so as to train others how to properly engage in the art of bed & breakfast. They are truly artists at social engagement, helpful assistance and comfortable lodgings—all in an orchard setting.

This is amazing place for it.

This B&B is a real gem! We chose it initially for its proximity to Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. I really enjoy their summer concert series. I will definitely return to Rd 6 B&B!

Our hosts were delightful! I choose to stay in B&Bs because of the people I meet there. We felt like guests in Jim and Gudrun's home and I really enjoyed conversation over breakfast.

The property is beautiful; a lovely place to relax! I recommend this B&B!

We had a wonderful stay at Rd. 6 B&B. Very nice, clean rooms with a king size bed in peaceful, quiet surroundings. Jim and Gudrun are great hosts.

We stayed at Jim & Gudrun's place for 3 nights on this trip. Their place is fantastic. Our rooms (Holiday suite & adjacent bedroom) were spacious & very clean. Great to have a full kitchen & dining room so we didn't have to eat all our meals out. Their fruit garden is very serene. Breakfast was always filling & delicious. An added bonus is that the site is very ecologically friendly with solar power & geothermal heat & AC! It was 38°C when we arrived, but the rooms were cool, but not cold.

Look no further than Road 6 B&B for truly enjoyable accommodations!! We stayed in the Holiday Suite for 3 days in September 2013 and will definitely return to enjoy the comfort and tranquility of the suite as well as the beautiful grounds. Jim and Gudrun's hospitality, attention to preferences and detail are remarkable. Breakfasts are outrageously delicious and a fine example of what Gudrun can do with locally sourced ingredients.

We have had the good fortune to stay at the Rd 6 B&B several times. From our very first breakfast, I was enraptured by the best omelet I have had outside of France. Gudrun knows how to cook! The rooms are spacious and very clean and Jim and Gudrun are wonderful and interesting hosts.

- M J Hall, 7 November 2013

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at this B&B. The Rd. 6 B&B is situated on a small orchard, with prune plums ripening during our visit. It is conveniently located to many wonderful wineries and local golf courses. Our room was spacious and clean as advertised. Jim & Gudrun are welcoming hosts & interesting people and we enjoyed our discussions at breakfast. Gudrun was always ready to share a cooking tip as well as her yogurt recipe. Thanks for a wonderful trip, and would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to our friends

As experienced B&B users we were very pleased with our experience at the Rd.6 B&B. Gudrun and Jim were superb host; our room was spacious and comfortable and the food was wonderful. Gudrun was very accomodating about our food allegies and we had absolutely no problems.

We stayed 4 nights and used it as a base to visit the many wonderful wineries in the region.

RD.6 B&B is a great little B&B nestled on a farm just south of Oliver. It is a great place from which to visit the many wineries the region has to offer as well as bird watching. Gudrun's breakfasts are worth the trip to Oliver. Fresh farm eggs, homemade yoghurt, fresh fruit preserves, as well as special treat such as French toasts with maple syrup. You get a different breakfast every morning. Make sure you stay 4 nights as the 4th breakfast is crepes which are yummy!!!! Also our plate wasn't full with a huge breakfast which you often find in B&B's. Most people nowadays do not eat those cholesterol laden big breakfasts. Gudrun's food is fresh and delicious and just the right quantity.

The rooms themselves were perfect and clean. Our group had the 2 units. The king bed is very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The other unit has 2 bedrooms, one with twin beds and a queen size in the main room, which also comprises a kitchen. While small, it has everything you need to cook a full meal. So no need to go out at night if you'd rather stay in. Plus there is a good supermarket right in Oliver - Super Value - which has a good variety of food.

Jim and Gudrun are great hosts and we would recommend this B&B to anyone travelling in this area. We hope to return one day as well. Thanks for the hospitality.

Nothing was too much trouble for Jim and Gudrun. The rooms were clean, comfortable and were in a beautiful, quiet setting. Fresh cherries straight off Jim and Gudrun's trees! Our breakfasts were all home grown and home cooked and varied daily, they were wonderful. Sharing the breakfast table with our hosts led to interesting discussions with them and other guests. Jim and Gudrun gave us useful local information. If you get a chance read Gudrun's book, it's well worth the read, a family history, warts and all. If you can't finish it you can always buy it from her. I would recommend this B&B, it is high class and good value.

Very comfortable - marvelous breakfasts and the hosts (the Moores) are most affable and entertaining.

We stayed at the RD.6 B&B in June for 2 nights. We found the suite perfect for my Dad, sister and I. All the necessities we needed were provided in the suite and we were only minutes from Oliver. Jim & Gudrun were perfect hosts, providing great hospitality, awesome breakfasts and fascinating stories of their travels around the world. The view of the rose garden was an added bonus as we enjoyed great conversation and lots of laughter. Jan and I would like to thank you both for being so accommodating and helpful with our father.

- Marlene, Jan and Tom, from Vancouver, B.C. Canada 2 July 2012

p.s. Gudrun, I got your book from Emma on my birthday! Thanks for signing it, I look forward to having some time this fall to read it. Thanks again, we really had an awesome time staying at your B&B, it will not be forgotten! =)

- Alison, from Whistler 26 September 2011

We stumbled across Rd 6 B&B on a girls weekend. We weren't sure where we were going or staying, but we ended up spending our whole time here as it was such an amazing place. Gudrun and Jim are really fascinating people we could have sat down and listened to their stories & chatted with them for hours! Their hospitality is incredible, the breakfasts are amazing and the sunrise is quite spectacular right from your window and patio. The location is awesome, close enough to cute little Oliver, but still far enough away to feel secluded and peaceful. Plus there are a ton of vineyards across the street and up the road. I would highly recommend you to go and stay at Rd 6 BnB and I will hopefully be back soon!

- Alison & Emma, from Whistler, Canada /Sydney, Australia 26 September 2011

- Lucie, from Quebec 19 September 2011

This is our ninth year of running our B&B. We think our B&B is a 'home away from home' as our many repeat guests have said. Peace and quiet, lush gardens, lots of birds and butterflies, very spacious accommodations, with private patios and guest BBQ. This is the first year we have enabled the review section.
