Full Breakfast

Breakfast items include: one egg any style, bacon, whole wheat or white toast, cold cereal (Raisin Bran, Cheerios, Corn Flakes), oatmeal with brown sugar, homemade cinnamon buns and other baked treats, coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, orange juice, homemade Newfoundland berry jams. Any combination of these items may constitute a breakfast order.

Partridgeberry Cake

1/2 cup maragarine, 1 cup white sugar, 1 egg, 3/4 cup cooking molasses, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 1/2 cup partridgeberries, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. ginger, Dash of cloves, Dash of allspice, 1 cup hot water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream margarine and sugar together. Add egg and beat well. Add molasses and vanilla and stir. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and spices. Add to creamed mixture. Beat in hot water and mix until smooth. Fold in berries.

Pour mixture into a greased and lightly floured 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Keep checking on the cake until it is done. Remove cake from oven and allow to cool on wire cake rack. If desired, top with Duncan Hynes or Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Icing.
