Traditional B and B in the heart of Bloomfield. Absolutely perfect! Diane is a wonderful host who will make you feel welcome but gives her guests space to do as they please. The breakfast is delicious with local fruits, breads and jams. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable and everything you need is there. Fresh flowers in your room, extra tea and coffee at your disposal and mini fridge. Large shared living room where you can access wifi or read. I would highly recommend staying here. Reasonable price with all that’s included. You will love it!

We stayed at Hillsdale House on July 8, 2017. We found this B&B to be very comfortable. Diane and Bruce were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious with coffee, juice, scones, toast, fruit and a tasty frittata. We walked to the main shops in Bloomfield within a couple of minutes. It is a lovely little town with a main street lined by quaint shops. We look forward to our return!

Where to begin. Diane and Bruce are the kindest, most welcoming hosts you can ever expect to encounter. It's hard to add to previous testimonials posted on this site because it seems everyone who has stayed at HH has had the same experience. It's all true - fresh flowers, fabulous breakfasts, great bed, location, and personal touches abound. We will return because, how can we not?

We liked it so much that after our first visit in August we came back for a 3 day stay in September! The rooms are comfortable, breakfasts are excellent and the location is great for bike riding and shopping. However, the thing we appreciated most were the hosts- Diane and Bruce. You will never meet two finer people.

Absolutely lovely and Diane and Bruce did everything to make our stay special. Great part of town, close to everything, Breakfasts were to die for. Lovely big room and bath. We definitely will go back

We recently spent a weekend enjoying Prince Edward County and were lucky to have discovered Hillsdale House to serve as our base. With friends, we occupied both rooms. The rooms are comfortable, impeccably clean and well furnished with access to a sitting room, porch, backyard and a well-equipped coffee/tea refreshment area with a small fridge. But it's the owners that set this establishment apart. Diane and Bruce are incredibly hospitable and Diane's breakfasts go well beyond standard fare. On the Sunday morning, the power was out locally for maintenance but Diane using only the barbecue managed to feed us a delicious breakfast. I also want to note when I booked I mentioned a food allergy to Diane and she ensured everything cooked for breakfast was safe for me. Very considerate. I would highly recommend Hillsdale House and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I was part of a group of 34 cyclers to Bloomfield. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hillsdale House. I felt very welcomed there. There were beautiful fresh flower arrangements everywhere... really beautiful. The breakfasts were exquisite: wonderfully presented and very nutritious to give us energy for the day. It was nice to see and talk to Diane each morning before we took off to explore the area. Very nice and comfortable place to stay. Thanks Diane!!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hillsdale House. The house was comfortable, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the hosts were accomodating and charming. My husband learned how to forge with Bruce and thoroughly enjoyed the process (though his shoulders and back were sore afterwards!). Highly recommended!

"Feel at home and stay awhile at this incredibly friendly B&B"

I cannot say enough about Hillsdale House in Bloomfield. I staid there for 3 nights recently, and my girlfriend and I both loved it. This is a down home, friendly, meet your neighbour kind of B&B. Your room comes with a private washroom as well as communal access to a tea/beverage room, parlour, and porch with rocking chairs. The facility is clean, cozy and country like, the bed very comfortable. Diane and Bruce, the proprietors, are wonderful people to meet. Friendly and unassuming, it doesn't take long to feel like you're their longtime friends. Diane, who is a great person to have a chat with, prepares tasty, nourishing and totally filling breakfasts (no need for a lunch after one of these). Bruce, who is a blacksmith artist, produces beautiful, practical pieces and his studio and forge (as well as his engaging stories) are part of the B&B experience. The B&B is centrally located too, on Bloomfield's main street, a short walk to restaurants and artist studios, and a short drive to Picton, the Sandbanks, wineries, fruit and vegetable growers, and even more artists and restaurants. With all of this and a fair price too, I highly recommend the Hillsdale House.

Regards, John

Two nights at this wonderful B&B just wasn't enough. Our hosts Dianne and Bruce were full of information when we inquired about the attractions in the area. Their humorous, easy going ways always encouraged conversations. Our room was very comfortable, light and airy with all the amenities. We loved the extra spaces for quiet times at the end of the day and to check out the many books, magazines and brochures available. A beautiful home! The breakfasts were a treat... taste experience! It feels like we have made friends and we look forward to returning for another visit.

A weekend of painting with Tess Moffat was simply a perfect way to break up the winter. It might have been cool outside but the warm welcome and inviting studio was perfect for learning new techniques, enjoying the company of fellow artists and tackling new subjects. Tess' encouragement and expertise made even the challenges truly enjoyable. Thanks to Tess' offering of classes I also had the delightful experience of staying at Hillsdale Bed & Breakfast a few doors away. Diane & Bruce made me feel as though their home was my own. Not to mention being spoiled with a beautiful breakfast. All this and a tour of Bruce's beautiful ironwork created within his business, Island Forge. During my brief two day stay in Bloomfield I had the opportunity to paint, shop at the local stores, dine out and stay over. The wonderful town of Bloomfield is very fortunate to benefit from all of their artists, artisans and this lovely b & b.
