Just returned to Toronto from Madoc and a short stay at the Spotted Dog.Rob and Scott are such friendly folks!(Their two dogs are also friendly). Breakfast was first rate. The maple syrup for the pancakes was even heated. These people care! For anyone reading this, stay at the Spotted Dog and grab a rocking chair on the porch. An early morning chat with Rob and Scott will be a great start to the day!

Such a lovely place to stay. We stayed for 4 nights and found the hosts and home very comfortable and refreshing.

Thanks for the hospitality Rob!! I really enjoyed your country home and all your antiques. The beds were so cozy with the quilts and blankets. I love the little tv/ sitting room upstairs. The bathrooms had everything one may have forgot to bring!! And the best part of all... Breakfast in the morning. Delish. Thanks again,

I'd like to add a bit to the testimonials of my friends Carol, Nancy and Blanche, with whom I stayed at the Spotted Dog for the civic holiday weekend. It was my very first experience staying at a B&B, and Rob and Scott certainly set the bar high, for a warm welcome, attentive hospitality, incredible breakfasts, beautiful rooms, and relaxing setting. I had a wonderful time - thank you so much!

In July I stayed with 3 other friends. What an amazing time ... we had the run of half the house, the pool, played croquet ... The food was wonderful and Rob and Scott were so welcoming. We felt like part of the family. We could come and go as we liked. We plan on making this an annual getaway - absolutely we'll be back. I can't be positive enough.

This is a great B & B, espeically wonderful for small groups. The house is well set-up so that B & B guests have their own TV room, living/games room and eating area. The breakfasts were amazing, we enjoyed games on the lawns, refreshing swims in the the clean, warm water of the pool, and lively singing around the piano in the evening. Superb hospitality.

In all the 31 years I have been visiting B&Bs across Canada, I have never before come across the high calibre of experience that the Spotted Dog offers until a month ago when I was there with 3 others. This B&B gets my top vote for an enormously welcoming and generous treatment of its guests in a lovely home environment in rural Madoc.

My friends and I came for a special reunion weekend a month ago. We were treated to the use of the front yard, the pool, the upper deck and all surrounding deck furniture, a sitting room with games and a piano, a dining room we could use, a full fridge for our food and some very good homemade meals prepared for us by our hosts, Robb and Scott! The home itself is lovely and cools down pretty well in the summer months, and the rooms were perfect for our needs.

Every need we presented was considered and generously met by Robb and Scott. But the best part of all was the very relaxed and pleasant, welcoming way in which we were treated while we stayed at the Spotted Dog. We all had a wonderful time, and we will be back!
