Staying with Sharyn was such a pleasure. She is personable, organised and efficient. Upon arrival, Sharyn had a number of suggestions for activities and attractions. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend the Duchess of Kent Inn to friends and family who plan on visiting Charlottetown.

This place was the best stay of our various stops during our maritime road trip. There're restful beds, delicious breakfast, GREAT coffee, a very very resourceful, cheerful and caring innkeeper, Sharyn, who helped us plan our days, most importantly she was able to accommodate the five of us on the same floor, made us felt like home. A great stay in a heritage house.

The Inn and the Duchess were equally charming. A wonderful historic home full of character and within walking distance of the harbour area of Charlottetown. The hostess was so friendly and helpful. She provided us with information on everything to see and do as well as where to dine in the area. We highly recommend this as THE place to stay in Charlottetown.

Guest room was spacious and comfortable. Private bath in the hall was fine, and it was a nice touch to provide a bathrobe. Not a lot of storage space in the bathroom for our stuff, but able to hang our bag off the wall. Common areas (living room and kitchen) on second floor made it feel very homey. More comfortable to watch TV there than in our room. (Could have used a wastebasket in the kitchen.) Host Sharyn was friendly and informative. We were the only guests and she gave us a tour of the other rooms and told us the history of the house, which I enjoyed.

A Step Back in Time and True Hospitality. With my fifth stay in the works, going to the Duchess of Kent is a bit like going home. I look forward to re-connecting with Sharyn and Doug and knowing the comfort of a Bed and Breakfast that has been lovingly and creatively restored. Sharyn's touches and attention to detail are a feast for the eyes and the location, is so convenient. It is very much part of the downtown community, near restaurants, theatre, library and parks. With close to 50 nights spent at "The Duchess," I go back because the Inn itself is unique - a step back in time, but with all the amenities. Sharyn is helpful, generous and accommodating. Last stay, 13 days, July 2013.

I stayed here with two friends for five nights in the 2nd floor 3 bedroom suite, and we had an absolutely amazing time. Not only was the duchess of Kent a beautiful home, but it was situated right in the core of downtown Charlottetown - minutes from many restaurants, the dock, tours, and significant buildings and churches. Sharyn kept us very comfortable during our stay - providing fresh towels and toiletries each day. The bathroom was very clean, though the sink could use a bit of an update. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom - lifesaver for me! The shared kitchen was kept stocked with hot chocolate mix and coffee (both instant and the good kind) - there was a water heater, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, lots of plates and cups, and a large fridge shared by the guests. I'm probably forgetting to list a few things, but we never lacked anything during our stay! I would absolutely recommend the Duchess of Kent to anyone visiting PEI, and I'll definitely be staying here next time I visit.

My Husband and I stayed 4 nights and look forward to returning the next time we visit Charlottetown. Sharyn is an absolutely fabulous person with a great sense of humour....gave us some local info and a map in which she had highlighted some of the sights around town...all of which which were within a 2-3 minute walk from the Inn. Sharyn's home is meticulously clean..she and her husband Doug take great pride in their home..and it shows!..

My mom, sister, and I just got back from vacation for a week and stayed at the Duchess of Kent Inn. I recommend this Inn 100% for anyone looking to visit PEI, and staying in Charlottetown. The Inn itself had a "Anne of Green Gables" feel to it, and was in a perfect location...walking distance to almost all the attractions going on, and the waterfront. Sharyn our host was welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable of PEI. It is a lovely Bed and Breakfast Inn!

Good location that is close to Confederation Centre

Our stay at the Duchess was excellent. We had the whole third floor to ourselves. Travelling with our two adult children. We had two bedrooms a sitting room and a turret sitting room off the one bedroom. All delightful and spotlessly clean. The location is perfect for walking all of down town Charlottetown. We would stay again if we were to visit Charlottetown
