My wife and I stayed for 1 night in late August, and we both agree that it was one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. Absolutely 10 out of 10. Isolde and Roger are tremendously friendly and welcoming, the room is spotlessly clean, roomy, and well equipped. The private deck with access from the room has a beautiful view over landscaped gardens, wild forest, and the Mersey River. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and included home-smoked salmon, home-made jam, freshly baked bread, and many other treats. Isolde welcomed us upon our arrival with a glass of complimentary wine.

My wife is a water colour artist, and Roger very generously gave us a tour of his studio where we saw many of his wonderful paintings. He is one of the most accomplished water colour artists in Canada.

All of this for $90. Quite incredible, really. We plan to return in a future summer and spend a few days using this wonderful place as a base to explore the town of Liverpool and area.

Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. The view and gardens are great. The breakfast delicious and the hosts outstanding. A 10 all around

Isolde was a wonderful host and we had such a peaceful, relaxing stay at the B&B. We didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Roger but Isolde welcomed us warmly and with much enthusiasm! It’s clear they take pride in hosting because they’ve collected lots of useful local recommendations. The room is older but was very clean. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise from our lovely patio, and eating breakfast with a water view!

- Kat & Matt, from Toronto, Canada 16 August 2018

Our room was cozy and comfortable. Our hosts gregarious and helpful. Breakfast was delivered to us in our room and it was delicious. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this B&B!

- Patrice Smith, from Detroit, Michigan 3 August 2017

I spent ten lovely days with Isolde and Roger who are the most perfect hosts at their B&ab. It was a delightfully quiet and restful stay with a scrumptious breakfast every morning. The views from the private deck were to die for and Roger was at hand every day with tips on what to see on the neighbouring coastline. Definitely a home away from home to enjoy.

We're from Regina Sask.and have stayed at Rogers B& B. What a great experience we had. With me also being an Artist it even made it better. Wonderful food and even better people to stay with. We ended up going back twice.Plan on down no it again next season.

We stayed only for one night, but enjoyed it very much. Great view from our private deck, nice room and delicious breakfast.

This was my second time at Gallery Guest House and it's just as wonderful as I recalled. With privacy, warm welcomes, humour, delicious breakfast (and special treats!); the best insider advice, and artwork, they have something really special going on. Make sure to go down the the beach at sunset and also in the morning, and be ready to change your plans, because trust me, they know all the best spots. Thanks again for your lovely hospitality!

- Michele, from Toronto 3 August 2015

Roger and Isolde are the perfect hosts. Isolde provides a very yummy breakfast and Roger tells you all you need to know about the local area, which really does make visiting this area of Nova Scotia very special. The accommodation is cosy and very comfortable, with your our balcony to see and watch the wildlife, or a short stroll through the garden to the sea shore. Can't wait to return to this beautiful spot and see more of Roger 's lovely paintings.

We enjoyed the extraordinary view, the attentive and personalized service, and the yummy breakfast in our cozy rooms. We will be back when the icy snowdrifts have disappeared.

Wir erlebten 07/2014 einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei den beiden wunderbaren Gastgebern Roger und Isolde im Honeysuckle-Zimmer, leider zu kurz, da wir auf Rundreise waren. We had a wonderful stay 07/2014 for the two wonderful hosts Roger and Isolde in the Honeysuckle room, unfortunately too short, since we were on tour.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gallery Guest House. Both Roger and Isolde did everything possible to welcome us and make us feel at home. Although the weather did not cooperate to take advantage of it, I appreciated the separate entrance and the large private deck overlooking the ocean afforded by the Honeysuckle Room. Enjoyed Roger's artwork hung in our room as well as in his gallery. Very talented artist. The breakfast trolley was fabulous - good selection and allowed us to enjoy at our own pace in our room. Isolde's black currant jelly was delicious. Overall very good value!

One of the nicest B & B's we have ever stayed in. It has been quite a few years, but still have fond memories of our time there. We were given a print of your prints and I have looked at your website more than once for the Poppies 97 print. I don't find it anywhere. I would be interested in a print of it that isn't overly large to hang over my fireplace. However, cannot afford a huge price. Regardless, your B & B is the best. The breakfast just out of this world We loved it.

Both my husband I would like to thank you for our stay with you on August 2nd 2014. Both of you were great hosts and we really wanted to say thanks for our stay. Breakfast was delicious. We love your art too Roger. We will cherish it forever. We hope to come back to Nova Scotia, and we will definitely book with you again. :)

My husband and I spent seven wonderful days in Liverpool. The B&B of choice was the Gallery Guest House. The hospitality by owners Isolde and Richard Savage was superb. Imagine having the best atlantic smoked salmon, assorted cheeses, fresh out of the oven multi grain bagel, fresh fruit of the season, home made black current jelly and freshly brewed coffee. Could one ask for anything more. Will definitely be stain here next summer.

- Lynda and Norm Davidson, from Ottawa, Ontario 8 August 2014

Wonderful stay at the Gallery B&B. Roger and Isolde are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were more than we handle - a really nice selection. Would recommend to anyone.

- Chris & Henry, from Southern Ontario 18 August 2013

Great place to stay. Breakfast on trolley was very tasty. Hosts were great and very informative of local events.Private entrance with a small deck was a very nice feature. Highly recomended place to stay and easy to get to.

A perfect setting, very comfortable. Roger's gallery is outstanding. The breakfast was great. Isolde was very helpful. Definitly worth considering if you are in this area.

What a find! We enjoyed a memorable and relaxing stay with Isolde & Roger. We were greeted with a warming smile followed very closely by warm drinks. The view from the deck to the room is stunning and the room is very comfortable and well furnished with its own private entrance via the deck. Breakfast was excellent and included smoked salmon as well as plentiful amounts of fruit and cereal. A real bonus was a sheet of "insider tips" on departure which gave areas of interest and places to eat. All in all a great place to stay with great hosts.

- Chris & Jacqui Kitson, from yorkshire, England 23 September 2009

We landed in Liverpool and stayed in Roger and Isolde's magnificent home. The room was cozy and private, with internet access and satellite TV. The breakfasts were spectacular...we even had enough for a light lunch later in the day. I have never eaten better smoked salmon...and the fresh fruit was simply refreshing.

The location was just outside Liverpool on the way to Western Head. We saw some wild surf as we were there just before Hurricane Bill arrived.

Roger gave us a personal tour of his studio and Isolde was a gracious host. You must stay at Gallery Guest House when you are in the ara.

- Harvey and Kathy Center, from Danbury, CT 29 August 2009

We have just enjoyed a relaxing one night stay with Isolde & Roger at the Gallery Guest House. We received a warm welcome with the opportunity to enjoy coffee & a glass of wine, while taking in the beautiful view, on the Honeysuckle room's deck. Perfect ! The room is comfortable, well furnished and displays some lovely examples of Roger's paintings on the walls. Access to the room is via the deck which enables you to come and go as you please without having to enter the main house. The house has peaceful tree-lined grounds with a looped path way that leads to the beach where you can sit at a picnic table and take in the sea air and scenery. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We made a point of enjoying it outdoors on the deck. We were treated to a sheet of paper full of insider tips, with routes, restaurants and places of interest to take away with us on our onward journey. (including a beautiful sandy beach and route to access it). All in all, a great place to stay with perfect hosts.

- Shawn & Ashlee Brett, from Kent, United Kingdom 16 July 2009

The room was beautiful, breakfast fantastic, and our walk down to the shore found seals playing in the water. My daughter & I could not have asked for better accommodation. Thank you so much!
