Stunning environment, perfect food, unique design of the lodge, and very nice hosts! I'll go there again!

- Victor, from Regina 27 August 2017

A SPECIAL PLACE I stayed at the Aurum Lodge for a week at the beginning of July 2013 (it was my second stay). - Being located at the shore of beautiful Abraham Lake and surrounded by numerous mountains, just 40 km from Banff National Park, the Aurum Lodge is a perfect place for nature lovers who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of other beautiful but more busy places like Banff. - The lodge is very comfortable with cosy and immaculate guest rooms which all have ensuite bathrooms. - The meals are healthy and delicious, freshly prepared each day by the hosts. - There is a living room for the guests to use as well as an abundance of books and information material on the area. - If you need assistance in planning your daily activities or just would like an opinion on something in particular the hosts Alan and Madeleine will gladly share their extensive knowledge of the area with you => Madeleine and Alan are very kind and helpful and make you feel very welcome in their home. - There are so many things/hikes to do in the close vicinity of Aurum Lodge as well as great day trips to Banff National Park and destinations along the Icefield Parkway that you can easily spend 7 or more days at the lodge. - Beautiful nature, possible wildlife sightings (such as humming birds, big horn sheep, bears, etc.), endless photo opportunities, seclusion and tranquility are what you will get, if you decide to visit. I am hoping to one day be able to return to Aurum Lodge for a longer period. Because it is a very special place.

An diesen besonderen Ort.

I visited Aurum Lodge in June 2010. It is an incredibly beautiful place to stay with "wilderness feeling". Exactly what I was looking for. You step out of the Lodge and are overwhelmed by the beauty and peacefulness surrounding you. Wish I could stay there for a whole year or at least one season. Beautiful home with excellent beds and delicious meals.Very nice hosts and lovely dog. Thank you Madeleine and Alan!

We visited this lodge for the Wiggett photography tour. We completely enjoyed ourselves, and improved our landscape photography dramatically based on what we learned on this trip.

The lodge is very comfortable, the food good, the location phenomenal, and the hosts make this a destination to return to. Alan (the co-owner, with his wife) knows the area intimately, and was able to give suggestions that were the basis for our improved photography.

If you want to stay over on the way from Jasper to Banff, forget about the Crossing, drive the extra miles and experience the beauty, quiet and piece of Aurum lodge. Not to forget the hospitality of Madeleine and Alan, who make you feel at home and can tell you all about the surroundings. The room was nice and clean and we enjoyed healthy breakfasts and dinners.

A luxury lodge with a back country feel that you can drive to. One of the most magnificent views in the Rockies. Each time we stay here we have been thoroughly delighted with our stay. The lodge is spotless, the location magnificent whether you explore the local area or go into the Nat'l Park. Alan and Madeleine always make us feel at home. This was our 10th visit here. Please check it out!`

Madeleine and Alan's hospitality is delightful and they devoted energy and time to put us at ease. Aurum Lodge is beautifully conceived to provide comfortable home in a remote place and in a sustainable way.
