I had a lovely stay in Brian and Carol's home. The room was comfortable, the location quiet and the hosts very helpful and welcoming without being overbearing. A park next to the river was only two blocks away and made a nice morning jog. A great home away from home in Ottawa - thank you!

We just spent the weekend from Friday to Sunday at Australis Bed & Breakfast and it was wonderful! Our host is a wonderful person with worldly travels and great stories. The house is clean and quaint. Breakfast in the morning is superb, all homemade foods nutritious and delicious. You will be filled up for the day till supper! We had a wonderful time. We plan to visit again in the not to distant future.

My husband and I have been visiting Carol and Brian at Australis House for about 20 years. They are wonderfully relaxed and generous hosts; always in-the-know with what's going on or new in Ottawa. We feel right at home with them every visit. You will definitely enjoy your stay at Australis House!

A fantastic place to stay. I was there during the Women´s Worlds conference in Ottawa, July 2011. The spirit and the ideals of that conference are represented in the way Carol and Brian Waters operate this B&B. The breakfast is five star, the best breakfast I have ever had in any hotel or guesthouse. Thick, fluffy waffles, scones, home made jams, fruit salat, etc. All made from scratch. I learned about recycling in practice and gift economy, but Carol is funding a school project in the poorest part of Nairobi, Kenya and has done fund raising for a women´s shelter in Ottawa. I would prefer a place like the Australis guesthouse anytime to a soulless hotel chain. Finally, this guesthouse is within walking distance to downtonw, located in a lovely and quiet neighborhood.

August 2010: The Australis Guest House is a very comfortable and clean B&B, we had a nice room with balcony and got a very good breakfast with delicious homemade food. Carol and Brian were very kind and always had good suggestions for us what we had to do in the nice city of Ottawa! Thank you for our nice stay at your house!

My boyfriend and I have been at your place on Canada's day. We were lucky that there was a free room, because somebody cancelled. We got some hints where to go and with all the tips we went pretty well! I really liked Quebec City! It was so nice there! Thank you for all your hints!

I loved to stay at your place it is so familiar, you and your guests where so interesting and our canada-holiday would have been only half as nice if we would't have got to your place. Thank you for that and stay the way you are it is just something special! I will recommend you to everybody who likes to go to Canada!

Australis Guest House run by Carol and Brian Waters

I stayed here for a relatives wedding in June 2008. The guest house was a breath of fresh air, both Carol and Brian offer a hassle free, no worries, down to earth service, were nothing is a problem. The accommodation is close to town, very clean well maintained and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was well prepared to and carol will offer you her latest baking recipes to taste, all were good.

Both Carol and Brian were full of helpful advice of where to eat and what to see. Plus when my relatives wedding organisational plans got hectic, Carol went an extra mile and was instrumental in helping me during my stay. On top of that she kindly gave me a leaving gift.

If you stay here you're not just staying at a guest house, your staying in a family home, run by two very kind people, who will make your stay that bit better. I could not thank both Brian and Carol enough for my stay and could not recommend this guest house enough.
