I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Nona and Ted. It is very clean and there were nice touches that made you feel you were in a high end hotel! Great breakfasts and lovely couple! Close to downtown and to the 400. My favourite part was sitting in the hot tub looking at the endless stars above while listening to the trees in the breeze!

My girlfriend and I stayed here before a mountain bike race in August. The experience was very pleasant, Nona and Ted are excellent hosts and their house is beautiful. The B and B is private and has its own entry and exit as well as living area. We would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at South Side Bed and Breakfast. Nona and Ted welcomed us very heartly and took care of us, what we highly appreciated. The bedroom and the living room are spacious and very tastefully furnished and also the bathroom provides everything we needed. We enjoyed the Hot Tub, which was very relaxing after a windy day at the beach! Thankyou very much for the wonderful vegan breakfast and all the helpful advices you gave us. It is a wonderful place to stay. We would come again and highly recommend this B&B..

Stayed here for one night. Private entrance, lovely garden view from livingrroom/breakfast room. Bedroom was spacious and nicely decorated. Owners were so nice and friendly and breakfast was great. House was within walking distance to restaurants and waterfront. Would stay here again for sure.

Living in the heart of downtown Toronto, we enjoy weekend getaways, and we loved our stay at South Side B&B. Barrie is known for it's easy access to the near north including Georgian Bay, Muskoka and the Kawartha Lakes. It should also be noted for it's charm, beautiful waterfront, great restaurants and loads of activities. South Side B&B was easy to find, super clean, attractive, bright, spacious and comfortable. Ted and Nona made us feel like family and offered lots of local knowledge and personalized service. Wonderful place to stay, great breakfast, a private entrance and a private outdoor hot tub and all for a reasonable price. We will happily stay there again!!!

We arrived late, around 8pm, at South Side and were welcomed by both Nona & Ted. They showed us to our suite and it was georgeous. Nona explained where everything was and how the TV worked, which was great because we usually get frustrated trying to figure it out. The decor was beautiful. The sofa & chair were both lazy boys and very comfortable. There were snacks and drinks available for us. The coffee pot was in our suite so we could make coffee anytime we wanted. The bedroom was huge and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious: fruit, juice, bacon & a mushroom omelette. It was a cold snowy night so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub but Nona said it was available if we wanted it. The next morning it had snowed about 6" and Ted cleaned the driveway for us and also our vehicle. What a great surprise. After breakfast we sat & chatted a bit before leaving for Toronto. Nona & Ted are very friendly and accommodating hosts. The suite is private and is like staying in your own apartment. We have a son & daughter in Barrie and sometimes there is too much family for them to handle so, if that ever happens again we will definitely stay with Nona & Ted. If you are a person that is wary of staying in someone else's house then this is the B&B for you. It doesn't feel like it's someone else's house. The suite is large and private. After breakfast we sat and chatted a bit before leaving for Toronto. The price is very reasonable and you don't get powdered eggs for breakfast. We felt like we were visiting family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this B&B.

This a wonderful B & B. It was a private, lovely retreat, with personalized service. Our hosts were so nice and welcoming to us,the room is beautiful, along with the private living room, bathroom, and backyard with a separate entrance. The breakfast was so delicious, thank you for treating us so well. My husband and I highly recommend this B & B, and will be returning in the future for sure.
