We booked in for a family birthday for 2 nights Sept 2017.Our stay with Rose and Don might have been brief but it was exceptionally rewarding. They have a beautiful spot and the Garden Suite provides a restful night in a spacious and nicely appointed setup. Hubby was thrilled with the lazyboy/big Screen and I had my choice of restful spots. You should start training for Rose's breakfasts because you cannot pass up any of her dishes. From lawn swing to hiking you'll enjoy your time at Getaway..we will return.

We stayed at the Getaway B&B in Bancroft, Ontario for five nights in August 2017. We loved it! The accommodations were private, comfortable and immaculate. The breakfasts were delicious and creative. We felt very pampered and we enjoyed the entertaining and interesting conversations with the hosts. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

Where to begin?

First the accommodations - super clean, comfortable, nice firm bed, nothing left out (fresh fruit on the table, bar fridge, wine glasses and cork screw, flashlight, plenty of fluffy towels and face clothes, umbrellas, WIFI, etc)

Owners - we stayed 2 nights and Rose and Don felt like old friends by the time we left. Personally, the best touch (not including breakfast) was the fire set out for us in the fire pit next to the swing bench (should have brought marsh mellows).

Breakfasts - didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Pancakes and crepes looked like they belonged on the cover of a cooking magazine (tasted even better)

Summary - I give this place a 4.9 out of 5. Would have been a 5 other than the distance outside of Bancroft (20 kilometers)

My husband and I recently stayed at Getaway, and what a perfect name! Rose and Don are such sweet, easy-going, and thoughtful hosts. Upon our arrival, Rose greeted us to show us the layout, and offered us tea. There were umbrellas for us in case we went out in the rain, housecoats and throw blankets in case we got chilly, water in the refrigerator, and a can of bug repellent (it happens we were there during one of the worst blackfly seasons in several years). The rooms were filled with an eclectic mix of artwork and furniture that all managed to work together. The bed was very comfortable, the scenery was lovely, and the breakfasts were delicious. Rose takes her breakfasts SERIOUSLY. Lovely strong coffee, fresh fruit and veggies, eggs from a neighbor's chickens, and the BEST blueberry pancakes. A lumberjack would be satisfied with the quantity, a foodie would be satisfied with the quality, and a food stylist would be jealous of her plating. They're great with friendly conversation about the area, the weather, their own travels; anything you want to chat about. They also have a wonderful dog named Sheeba, who was sweet and calm and wanted all the belly rubs. We're animal lovers, so her presence made the stay that much more welcoming. If we are ever in the Bancroft area again, this is the first place we will call!

Accommodations are very comfortable, private, exceptionally clean, and the hospitality is welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, homemade meats, toast with homemade jams/jellies...and of course perfectly brewed coffee, before and after! What a relaxing treat staying at this B&B, nestled just north of Bancroft. The owners of this B&B have thought of everything for their guests. Highly recommended. Wonderful hosts.

What a beautiful tranquil place. So peaceful, had such a great sleep. It's too bad we only booked for one night. We will be back though.. Rose is such a perfect host, she wants to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay, and we did. The breakfast was unbelievable. I'm sorry I could not finish it all. We were up from Niagara looking at real estate and Rose and Don were very encouraging and gave us lots of great advise. Rose had a tray of coffee ready in morning, but we ended up sitting around the kitchen Island chatting and having our coffee while Rose made breakfast. Thanks again. We'll keep in touch.

One of our favourite places to stay. The accomadations are beautiful ! Every comfort that you need. The place is spotless!! Rose is an amazing cook . If you have food allergies she still whips up amazing food for you to enjoy. Close to Bancroft and the lovely town of Maynooth. So much to do ! Can't wait to go back!

My partner and I frequent B&B's and they are our choice of stay while travelling. Getaway has to rate at the top of our list. Very clean, comfortable, private and quiet. Our breakfast was as good as any that a five star restaurant could provide. Special attention given to food sensitivities. Hosts Rose and Don were exceptionally welcoming. Definitely a choice when in the area again!!!!

A beautiful setting just minutes from Bancroft with very friendly and accommodating hosts. The suite is very spacious and well furnished. The bed is very comfortable and clean and the fireplace makes it very cozy. The breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed my stay there.

During my 50 years in the broadcast industry, which involved a good deal of travel for assignments, I stayed in many hotels, motels, B&Bs etc. None of them even came close to my stay with Rose and Don near Bancroft, Ontario.

They were excellent and obliging hosts who made me feel right at home. The accommodation was ultra clean with a very comfortable bed and fresh, clean sheets for a good nights rest. There was even a bedside mat that said "good night" and a bowl of fresh fruit for a nighttime snack. The fireplace was a bonus.

Breakfast the next day featured hot and delicious potato pancakes, fresh brewed hot coffee/tea, and an extensive menu to choose from which catered to my individual likes, dislikes and any heath/allergy concerns.

The Bancroft area is a beautiful part of the country with lots to see and do any time of the year and Rose has a B&B that compliments all the area has to offer.

It's five star in every way.

A delightful and lovely setting, very private and quiet, only 15 minutes from Bancroft. The suite was very roomy, a self contained apartment with a very comfortable bed. There is a sitting area with a fridge and table, all tastefully decorated. The hosts are a warm and friendly couple that made me feel most welcome. I will now need an excuse to come back to Bancroft!
