dot Laughing Waters - B&B, Vacation Rental on Lake Lauzon
I stayed with Tina for an evening as a B&B pitstop in June 2014 when I was in the area by myself. The place was so amazing and Tina so welcoming that I returned in August 2014 with my wife and 2 kids (9 & 12 years) for a week. We booked all 3 bedrooms (ask for a discount for multiple rooms and/or longer stays) so the main level was exclusively ours for the week - like a luxury cottage, but with hotel-style amenities...too numerous to list but I'll try, including:

Kitchenette: full-size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker (with all the K-Cups you can drink!), crock pot, cups, dishes & cutlery, laundry, beer koosies, outdoor gas BBQ and more...made it super comfortable to move in with a weeks worth of drinks and food, lunch and dinner we prepared mainly on the BBQ. Tina also offered us fresh herbs and a variety of vegetables from the garden which was plentiful this time of year.

Bathroom: shower, sink, toilet, towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, blow dryer, beach towels. Everything is there except your toothbrush.

Beds as described in the ad with super comfy sheets and pillows, storage in dressers and closets....AND robes and slippers. So nice! She even has spare hoodies in case the weather is cooler than anticipated (and it was for us) or if you forgot.

Living area: couch, desk, tables, satellite TV, wi-fi. Very spacious so the kids could spread out and enjoy....but we didn't spend much time inside because the outside is so fabulous!

Outdoors: Gas BBQ, covered outdoor dining and sitting area, gazebo seating in a gorgeous garden, hot tub, fire pit, spacious parking, a flat grass area (great for sports like kicking/throwing the ball around or badminton). Then head down the stairs to Lake Lauzon for your private beach party complete with dock, lounges, chairs, kayaks, floating seats, noodles.

So ya, wow! We ate like Kings, drank cocktails on the patio and beach, smoked cigars in the hot tub and just had a fantastic vacation. Tina allowed us to use the dock and we brought our own boat so the kids wakeboarded, tubed, kneeboarded, and cruised around. Didn't fish a lot but apparently it is fabulous there. Spent fun time swimming and just hanging on the beach. Had a nighttime bonfire and fireworks one night too. There are a variety of comfy outdoors spots to sit and have drink, or read a book in tranquility.

TIna was a gracious and interactive host. Just a few examples include when she took our 9-year old daughter berry picking, ran out with a lighter and ashtray when she saw my cigars, and lent us dishes and/or a pot/or pans when we needed for our lunch or dinner.

Each morning we were treated to a fantastic breakfast that over the course of the week included crepes (make your own like Nutella/banana), blueberry pancakes, Eggs Benedict, traditional bacon and eggs, and fresh fruit/cereal with greek yogurt spread. Just let her know your likes and dislikes and any allergies before hand.

We spent most of the week just hanging on the property, but we did explore a little. The Boom Trails are nearby in Blind River which made for a nice nature hike, and drove up to Cataract Falls. We ate lunch in town at the Lakeview in Blind River one day - food there was mediocre after the gourmet breakfasts and our own meals but it was nice to sit down somewhere and let some else cook on a rainy day. I jogged a couple times in the morning up the roads of Lauzon Village and over to Table Rock. Tina has a variety of brochures for local attractions but we chose to stay put and relax most of the time.

Things to know or bring: Water shoes or sandals that can get wet. The beach is nice but rocky, as is the first few feet of shallow water. The depth drops of quickly about 8 feet out - great for swimming. Tina has a little dog named Coco who is very well behaved but I thought I'd mention it in case of allergies. Getting to the each is down a steep slope, lots of stairs so I wouldn't recommend for people with mobility issues.

Can't wait to go back again next summer, or maybe even a winter stay for snowmobiling! Overall compared to a luxury private cottage rental the quality of the place is similar, but you'll pay more and won't get these kind of amenities at most cottages, never mind the awesome breakfasts made for you! Seriously, show up with a suitcase and a cooler and just enjoy....

I had the opportunity of staying at this establishment and it was outstanding no lack of amenities! The host tina Schnieder was fabulous and this retreat had abundance of laughter, comfort and beauty. I highly recommend to take your corporate training there for the view and serenity to learn and take in the beauty of the North Shores! I will be returning to this welcoming site!

Such an awesome place! Beautiful waterfront property - loved sitting in the hot tub looking at the lake and amazing sunset. Home is spotless, modern and beautifully decorated. Love how all the thought that went into the small things - Keurig coffee machine and even had decaf coffee! We had such a relaxing peaceful time. And Tina - the hostess with the mostess! Such a beautiful person and made us feel right at home. Thanks for such a nice mini getaway - we'll be back@

What a wonderful place! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while we "cottage-shopped". Tina was a fantastic hostess, and somehow knew our every need (even before we did). The main floor is set up only for guests and is very private. Includes bedrooms, bathroom, kitchenette and main area. All were impeccably clean and comfortable. The beach area was fantastic...we could have spent all day there! Breakfast was so very delicious. Tina made us feel very comfortable...we felt immediately like we never left home! We would recommend Laughing Waters for anyone wanting to totally enjoy time away. We left with the knowledge that we would be back!

Loved it! Our family of 4 booked a night here last summer on a road trip, but it was so great we ending up staying for 2 nights and were very sad we had to leave. We are booking a full week this year, can't wait!!!

I have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful lake house, once during each of the breath taking seasons the Algoma region has to offer visitors. Tina is a gracious, and welcoming host, and you feel so at home here. The rooms are impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated. She has a vast knowledge of the area, and her enthusiasm to share it with others is second to none! She brings a fun European flair to your stay, and I would highly recommend a visit to Laughing Waters!!

An amazing place to enjoy the true beauty of northern Ontario. A place to hear the birds, smell the flowers, be in awe of the sunset, and relax under a sky filled with stars. All this, while enjoying the outstanding hospitality of a wonderful hostess.

Tina, I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to stay at Laughing Waters and get a preview of your little piece of heaven! The accommodations are wonderfully comfortable, the food simply delicious and the hospitality absolutley as welcoming and genuine as one would expect from family.

The activities are plentiful, nature all embracing and the beautiful, serene views, are pure food for the soul! I will definitely be back and recommend this B&B as the best that Northern Ontario has to offer. Plan your visit soon..you will not be disappointed.
