My wife and I were looking for a little getaway and Danby House was perfectly situated. When my wife discovered they were a preferred partner for the Scandinave spa in Collingwood, we were sold.

Check in was smooth, Barb showed us around the home and all it's many amenities, then showed us our room and made sure we were comfortable. The entire house is absolutely beautiful inside and out, very tastefully decorated with the perfect mix of old, and new. Our room was excellent with a comfortable bed, and an absolutely beautiful bathroom that once again tastefully mixed the classic architecture of the home with modern amenities and fixtures, including a stunning corner glass rain shower.

The gardens and serene seating areas in the back yard gardens was an excellent place to unwind after a day on the road while enjoying a coffee from the well stocked coffee bar upstairs.

Indoor secure parking for our motorcycles was most appreciated.

There are several local (within walking distance) eating options that Barb recommended, and we opted for a small bistro in town ("Fire and Ice") were we had a tasty dinner in a casual atmosphere.

Breakfast was excellent including yogourt, fruit, and eggs Benedict - not something I often make for myself despite loving it, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We loved our stay and would love to return! Book and stay with confidence!

I was in the area on a business trip, and stayed at Danby House for several days. Barb was a pleasant and helpful hostess, and her breakfasts were great. Rooms are attractive and very clean. Danby House is a great place to stay.

Danby House was an ideal spot for our weekend vacation. It's a beautiful old home that has been carefully and luxuriously restored and Barb's cheery hospitality ensured that we had everything we needed for a carefree stay. As a cyclist I was especially pleased by the attention to good food and one of the best showers I've ever seen. We'll definitely be back.

Danby House is a newly renovated century home, well located for access to many area attractions, very comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. Barb was extremely helpful in recommending excellent dining and shopping options. Her morning breakfast was delicious and our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her delightful bed and breakfast. It offers all the best advantages of staying at a Bed and Breakfast.

Stayed at the Danby House while in Markdale for work. The bed was very comfortable, Barb was very welcoming, and her dogs are darn fine pooches. Breakfast was terrific - highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay over New Year's despite the weather! We found the Danby House easily, and received a warm reception from Barb and the dogs. The House is beautifully decorated and served all our needs. The breakfasts and hospitality were all that could be asked for. It made our visit back to our old stomping grounds just excellent. Thanks.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Danby House last night and I was very impressed with the comfortable atmosphere & great breakfast. The house was warm on the coldest night of the year and Barb and Mike went out of their way to make everyone feel at home in their beautiful century old home. Yes I will be staying there again.

My husband and I stayed here in September of 2013 and our friend was able to book a room too. We needed a place to stay for a wedding and we were so happy that we picked the Danby House. We were instantly impressed by the character and charm of the house as well as the modern touches that gives the Danby House a luxurious feel. We really enjoyed the homemade breakfast the next day. Barb was amazing. Great Experience!

Spent the day touring around the area, Blue Mountain, Collingwood and Thornbury. This B and B is top notch! The rooms are gorgeous and the breakfast was wonderful. Nice to get a way from the busy city life. We enjoyed a nice dinner at a restaurant close by. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a first class get-away at an affordable price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Danby House B&B February 17th, 2013. Barb is a wonderful hostess who made us feel right at home. Our room was great and on an extremely cold night, very warm and cozy. The decor and amenities are second to none and the food outstanding! We look forward to returning sometime in the future. I would highly recommend this B&B.
