We have stayed at Bev's BNB several times. It is a wonderful getaway. The Rooms are nicely decorated and exceptionally clean. The views are beautiful. Bev is a perfect hostess. It is the place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at Bev's, "Last Resort" B&B for three nights very recently this past August 2014. We were just delighted with the beautiful waterfront view! Our view of Pigeon Lake was breathtaking! We were amazed by the nature and wild life! We felt like we were staying at "a little paradise"!

The accommodation was very clean and simply lovely. The d├ęcor of our room was a "treat"! There was plenty of reading material and lovely linens.

Bev provided us with a beautiful, hearty breakfast every morning. We enjoyed her company and she made us feel very welcome and special.

We would definitely recommend staying at this bed and breakfast. We would never consider this, "The Last Resort". Next time around we would consider this bed and breakfast to be "The First Choice"!!!

Thank you Bev for everything! It is very obvious that you care about the comfort and happiness of your guests! All The Best!!

Two years ago, a couple of days before a long weekend I decided to go out of town with my father and my partner. Being so last minute, I found it was almost impossible to find a place, The Buckhorn's tourist information gave me the telephone numbers of a couple of B&B's around the Kawartha Lakes, one of which was the Last Resort's. And this was how I found the Last Resort as a last resort. It has turned out to be one of the best findings of my life :)

The two rooms of the B&B are cozy, beautifully decorated and very clean. They open towards an amazingly peaceful lake, with a very unique view to two little cute islands each with its own cabin! Whenever I go to Bev's I love making a fire by the lake, enjoying the sound of water wavelets and birds, while watching the interesting scenery. It brings me a deep sense of peace, which I find extremely helpful whenever I want to be away from the stresses of city life.

In addition to the peace & beauty of nature, what makes the Last Resort unique, is the hostess herself...Bev. During the nice breakfasts she serves, we chat about life. For me, as an immigrant, it is interesting to hear about the life of a woman, especially a successful entrepreneur such as Bev--who was born and raised in Canada, while sharing some of my own experiences. Through these chats, I connect deeper to Canada and learn about life in a place like the Kawartha Lakes, as opposed to large cities. Bev even showed me her lovely old cook stove, which she uses as backup heat all winter long. She also explained to me how the pioneers along with herself use the ashes to put on icy roads instead of salt and chemicals.

After breakfast, one can do many different things. For example, a 10 minute drive takes you to the town of Bobcaygeon: a little friendly town with its big shoe store, with the latest styles of the trendiest brands. On the other hand, a short drive to a different direction takes you to the Kawartha Highlands, for an even deeper immersion in nature.

I look forward to my next stay with Bev.

Husband and myself spent 2 nights at Bev's B&B and I must say they were most enjoyable. Spectacular views from our room! What impressed me more was Bev herself - couldn't have asked for a more hospitable and wonderful lady. By the end of our stay I think we made a new friend.

If anyone is undecided or hesitant about Last Resort please don't be- you will not regret staying at either the B&B or the cottage.

Bev, you're doing an awesome job and I look forward to staying at Last Resort again and meeting up with you for more great conversations over coffee. Wish you the best of luck.
