I had a delightful stay in the suite at Charing House Gardens B & B. Olivia and Ron were gracious hosts, caring and kind, without being intrusive. The spacious suite provided all the amenities for an extended stay. Although the house is located close to main streets and shopping areas, it is very quiet and peaceful. The park across the street is ideal for long strolls. I was there too early in the season to enjoy the deck and garden, but will certainly plan on returning in the near future..

This B&B is a very pleasant, clean and spacious. The hosts provide friendly hospitality combined with respect for privacy. It is restful and quiet with a very agreeable deck and and garden which border on a public green space with a walking trail. The breakfast basket is generous with lots of fruit, muffins, oatmeal, cheese and snack foods included. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Charing House Gardens B&B and would gladly return there to stay on another Ottawa visit.

Had a wonderful 2 day stay there. The hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. This home is one we highly recommend and we intend to stay again.

Great BnB and a wonderful place to stay. Clean, comfortable, convenient. Spacious room in a large house, backing on to a quiet greenbelt; easy to get into town. Hosts Olivia and Ron are most welcoming, as is Lacey the Golden Retriever. A gentle, aged and friendly dog with memory: barked when we first arrived and never again at our arrivals. Olivia is a gardener and happy to show you her beautiful garden and share her considerable expertise. Would definitely return to Charing House Gardens again.

This, our second stay at Charing House, was in early February and just as delightful as our previous summer visit when glorious dahlias presided in Olli's exceptional garden. You will not find more considerate or interesting hosts. Every helpful detail for comfort away from home has been considered and provided. If you go too, you will not be disappointed. We snacked all the way back home on the leftovers from breakfast. This BnB is highly recommended.

Excellent in everyway. Could not have asked for a more welcoming, safe, clean and quiet B&B. Hosts Ollie and Ron (and Lacey too) are truly friendly and hospitable and their home and gardens are lovely. The breakfast baskets are full of more than enough healthy food Highly recommend.

Charing House B & B is located close to the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Nepean. Ron and Olly are the perfect hosts, warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed in the West Room and it was beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy. The house is beautiful, very clean, quiet, a true oasis in the heart of the city. Breakfast was simple yet delicious with ample portions. We highly recommend Charing House. Hope to get back there in the summer to see the beautiful gardens.

Charing House Gardens is a lovely, comfortable, easily accessible and affordable B&B near Ottawa. Olly & Ron are warm and helpful hosts, the West Room was spacious with perfect amenities, the area was very quiet, and the gardens were a lovely space to enjoy our breakfast. Free parking is helpful. This B&B is highly recommended!

We were delighted with the welcoming support for every need, the thoughtful and detailed consideration that went into equipping the room, the ease of the overflowing basket of breakfast fruit and packets in our little kitchen area, and the beauty of the garden. The hosts did not do my online-course homework for me, but the arrangement for doing work was perfect.

My thanks. We will need to return to the area, and we hope to find room in this terrific B&B. You cannot do better.

I chose to book this B & B from this website whilst visiting Ottawa. It scored highly on trip advisor with good cause; its outstanding. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, quiet and well presented. The actual house is on a quiet suburban street opposite playing fields. The owners are lovely, very knowledgeable and welcoming. I would recommend this B & B to anyone visiting Ottawa as the city is within 15 mins away.

If you don't need to be in the downtown area of Ottawa this is the perfect place for a restful stay (unless you happen to have a 5.0 earthquake strike in the middle of it! :-) - that was a bit of a surprise!). Situated in a residential community overlooking a park, and not far from the Nepean Sportplex (about 2 minutes by car!) this was perfect for my visit over the May long weekend. Firstly - the room: mine was a suite upstairs; decorated with a blue theme. It was bright (loads of light from the big bay window) with a bright walk- through bathroom connecting to another bright living space with sofa, TV, writing desk and a nook with a breakfast "station" in a large closet. The bed was comfortable, bathroom had shower with lots of hot water big mirror, window for tons of daylight, toilet and sink. A Tassimo coffee maker was on the bench also. THe hostess has thought of everything you need (and if you don't have what you need is most obliging to make it available) from cutlery, dishes, a fridge, microwave, kettle, juices, tea, coffee, napkins, milk and fruit. This B and B offers a self-served breakfast only -- given the night before in a small basket - chopped fresh fruits, yogurt and muffin, with extra snacks like cheese and crackers and health bar. I brought my own cereal and food to make sandwich lunches for my function. Olly was attentive asking about my needs each day. There was no hairdryer in the room, although I don't always need one and I'm sure if I asked one would have been made available. Her husband, Ron, greeted me and showed me about on arrival and introduced me to Lacey and Buttons their two dogs. I was invited to make use of the back verandah overlooking Ollie's garden whenever I wanted. When I was there it was late spring with blossoming trees and a few last tulips blooming. THe property backs onto a shared community green corridor with a bike path that runs, I assume, all the way into the centre of Ottawa. I was allowed to get my animal"fix" by taking Lacey for a short walk along this parklike area. There was free wifi in the room - no problem accessing the service. All in all exactly what I needed for my stay with the added bonus of feeling welcome in a family home in a lovely area of Nepean. Highly recommended!

April 10, 2013:

Thank you for a lovely stay. Your home was very comfortable and quiet. We slept very well and had a fabulous week watching the Women's World Hockey Championships. Thanks so much for the great breakfast foods, we really appreciated the assortment of fruit, cheese, juice, and baked goods. Lacey was a wonderful dog who often greeted us - helping us feel at home. All the best.

February 18, 2013: Thank you so much for letting me stay again in your lovely house. It is a wonderful retreat after the bustles of work. I hope I can come again in spring/summer to be able to enjoy the gardens and surrounding area. Thank you.

December 18, 2012: Thank you very much Ron and Olly (and Lacey too!) for the welcoming ambiance at your mansion-style residence in a great, tranquil neighbourhood. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in the spacious and comfortable Suite with practical amenities.

Plus many extras: extra fresh fruit, a lift to the bus station, interesting conversations, and a sympathetic and accommodating approach to make the stay even more enjoyable.

P.S. We will recommend Charing House Gardens warmly!

I recently found a charming place to stay on my visits to Ottawa. I stayed in the suite which was warm, beautifully kept and very peaceful. I would rate this B&B a five for quality and a warm welcome. Olivia was a very interesting host and I liked returning each day to Lacey's wagging tail. It felt like being home. I highly recommend Charing House and know they will do well in years to come.

I stayed in the suite. It was very spacious and clean. I liked the breakfast basket, the fridge and the microwave in the room. There were convenient.

The hosts, Joe and Olivia were very kind. They helped my schedule a lot. As it was the first time for me to visit Ottawa, I was really glad to stay there. Their dog, Lacey was very friendly and lovely.

Thank you, Joe, Olivia!

This B and B is a hidden gem. One of the best we have experienced. So quiet and only a 20 min drive to centre of Ottawa. Wonderful hosts and beautiful home. The breakfast baskets were great and the muffins delicious. Thanks Olly for all your help and information. Have no hesitation in recommending this B and B and only wish we could have stayed longer:)
