We stayed here for 2 nights recently and would go back again tomorrow if we could. Cathie has a beautiful home, location and facilities. She is a wonderful hostess and her helper (?) was very enjoyable too. Breakfast was fantastic both mornings with everything fresh. Our room was extremely comfortable. Anyone who stays here will not be disappointed at all.

My husband and sister and myself stayed at this beautiful B & B just recently and would highly recommend it to anyone. Cathy was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Her breakfasts were wonderful, the bedroom spotlessly clean and we will definitely stay with Cathy anytime we are in the area. Thank you Cathy for your hospitality,

- Elaine Clarke, from Cambridge On Canada 5 September 2018

My wife and I stayed for two nights and felt very comfortable. Cathie was a great host and breakfast was both delicious and cozy. Mingling with the other guests was a great experience and further added to a great stay. Great location if you want to explore the Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay Area which are very beautiful. Also "kitty" is there if you required any pet therapy.

- Norm & Kathy Haring, from Clearwater B.C. 3 August 2018

We enjoyed Cathie's gracious hospitality, her comfortable room, delicious and nourishing breakfast (our host breakfasted with us which made us feel like family), and the view of the bay was lovely.

We stayed one night in July as we toured Nova Scotia. I wish we had booked more than one night. It's within driving distance of many attractions. We stayed at By the Bay because our daughter had stayed there and recommended it. She was right. Cathie is a wonderful hostess. She's welcoming and interesting to talk to. The food was wonderful, and Cathie's kind enough to share recipes. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. All the best features of a good B&B are here "By the Bay."

- Annette, from Indiana, USA 31 July 2017

My family of 4 stayed with Cathie for 1 night in August while travelling through Nova Scotia. I really wish we could have stayed longer as this was our favourite B&B during our stay in Nova Scotia!

The room was lovely (hand made soap smelled great!), the bed was extremely comfortable and the view off the balcony was wonderful.

Cathie went out of her way to make us feel welcome, even asking my kids to join her and her friends in watching the Sound of Music on Cathie's newly installed TV in her living area.

Appreciated the good food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Would most certainly stay here again and would highly recommend Cathie's B&B to others.

By the Bay B&B is a warm and inviting B&B with tranquil views of the ocean, stimulating conversation and mouth watering breakfasts made with locally grown foods. The homemade granola, organic yogourt and fresh NS strawberries were enough on their own but were followed by oatmeal blueberry pancakes and local maple sausage.... Yummy! Rooms are very clean and nicely appointed with all the little extras you appreciate when away from home such as locally made soap, makeup remover pads, chocolate(!), etc. During our stay we met other guests who were visiting this B&B from Florida for the third time! Highly recommend you contacting Cathie to book your stay here... you wont regret it. :)

- Trixie Norman, from Calgary, AB. 20 July 2015

By the Bay is a wonderful bed and breakfast. Cathy is a very gracious, accommodating hostess. Her home is warm and cozy and she makes you feel really at home. Our room had a great view from the balcony and the extra touches were appreciated: chocolate bar, water in the refrigerator, glasses and wine cork. Cathy's breakfasts were fantastic. We were there three days and had a wonderful, homemade breakfast each day. Hope to go back some day!

We stayed in the Nora & Laurie Fraser Honeymoon Suite and Balcony the first week in July and had a wonderful trip. Cathie was a gracious and friendly hostess and breakfast was varied and tasty each day. We really liked the B&B and the location. This was actually my 2nd trip here and we hope to be back again. Thank you Cathie for making our trip so memorable.

I enjoyed this B&B - In my room, the little touch of a mini fridge, with filtered water and a bag of nuts and a chocolate bar were very appreciated. I felt very welcomed at breakfast. I must say having granola and yoghurt was very nice, especially since premium brand yoghurt was served. The granola was fantastic. I will love to come back if I am ever in this part of the country again. Date of stay: April 2014

We had a lovely stay. Cathie, our host, is gracious, friendly, and charming. The rooms are bright and cheerful, we like the location, and we recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home near Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.

We loved our stay at By the Bay BnB. Cathie our host was amazing to both myself and my partner. I was a little unsure after never staying in a BnB but it was great. Met lots of wonderful people and Cathie was so welcoming. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again for your hospitality and taking us in. Bec n Tanya

I spent 4 nights here in October 2012 and it was marvelous! The rooms are inviting, clean, cosy and large. The tranquility of the vista warms the heart as does Cathy, a most gracious and friendly host. The breakfasts were to die for-- I highly reccommend this B& B for a short or longer stay!

- Betty-Anne Fraser, from Nunavut, Canada 21 January 2013

We spent one night here for a little getaway from the city and were very impressed. The Nora and Laurie Fraser Honeymoon Suite was spacious, with a cozy fireplace, comfortable bed, large jacuzzi tub, beautiful balcony, and view of the cove. Cathie was a very warm and welcoming host who made us feel comfortable. The home-cooked strata for breakfast was amazing and we were impressed with Cathie's attention to the use of quality ingredients and local coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed this little retreat and would definitely recommend it!

- Chris and Jaime, from Halifax, NS 20 October 2012

We have spent two weeks at By the Bay Bed and Breakfast and have been extremely impressed with the quality of the accommodation, the food (which was all freshly home-cooked)and above all, Cathie's thoughtfulness and help in providing us with local information. We had a wonderful view over the bay from our room, which, in addition to everything else, made our stay really relaxing and enjoyable.

- Heather and Stuart Gibson, from Lincolnshire, England 27 September 2012

Had a wonderful time staying at By the Bay Bed and Breakfast. Felt like it was a perfect place to feel at home while on vacation. Cathie was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, the house was clean and comfortable, and at a perfect location to visit around all the different places we wanted to see. Beautiful view from the backyard. Would definitely stay again!

- Kathy, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada 17 September 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Cathie. Her home is lovely, she serves wonderful breakfasts (including accommodations for gluten sensitivity), she made great suggestions for visits and restaurants that helped us make the most of our stay, and she is an all around great hostess. We wish we could have stayed longer, but now we can look forward to returning to "By the Bay". We would definitely recommend this B & B in a beautiful part of Nova Scotia!

- Ron & Anne-Marie, from Ottawa 13 August 2012

We stayed three nights last week of July, 2012. Cathie's B&B is exactly why we use B&Bs whenever we travel. The house is immaculate. The property is gorgeous and right on the water. I enjoyed paddling each morning and evening. Cathie made a wonderful breakfast and spot-on recommendations on where to eat other meals. She was also very helpful in planning our outings...her location is great for venturing into Halifax as well as southerly along the coast. Definitely would recommend staying here.

- Steve & Ruth, from Atlanta, GA 5 August 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Cathie. She went to great lengths to accommodate a gluten free diet and provided great breakfasts. The gluten free pancakes were a hit will everyone! A lovely room, a comfortable bed and a welcoming host in a delightful setting.

- Chris & Trish, from Ottawa, Canada 29 June 2012

A wonderful Bed and Breakfast! Beautiful rooms, fantastic views and hospitailty in abundance. Cathy, your hostess, provides an abundance of hominess, from her healthy breakfasts to her hot homemade breads. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversations and the atmosphere. My husband and I would certainly reccommend staying at this "piece of heaven" and will definately be revisiting on our next Peggy"s Cove holiday!

- Charlene and Fred Duffy, from Prince Edward Island, Canada 6 September 2011

Probably the best B & B in the province. Excellent accommodations, meals were great & the hostess went above & beyond what was expected. Beautiful view. You can't go wrong here. Worth it at twice the price.
