It is difficult to put this experience into words. On a scale of one to ten, I would give this B&B a 'nineteen'. It was lots of fun, clean, comfortable, a great breakfast, beautiful place and we got to see a moose that seemed to be elusive to everyone we met on our trip! Doreen is a gracious, interesting and very talented host. What was to have been a stopover on our way to Twillingate, turned out to be a highlight of our trip.

Our family of 3 stayed with Doreen for one night in Aug 2016. The accommodations were quaint, quiet and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Doreen entertained us with stories of growing up in Newfoundland. She also sang some delightful Newfoundland songs and played "Cricket" her ugly stick. We loved her passion for her heritage.

Doreen is attentive to every detail to make sure our stay was everything it could be. She told us where to go to see all of the highlights in the area, She feed us a wonderful authentic breakfast and even sang a number of classic Newfoundland songs accompanied with the Dancing Man and an Ugly Stick. Truly Wonderful. And then to top it off she called me the next day after we had left to apologize that she mistakenly put out 2 of the same jams for breakfast. Who does that ???? Doreen does!

My husband and I were traveling back through Springdale on way to Port aux Basque and took a chance Doreen would have room for us, and as fate would have it there was only one room left. This was one of the most enjoyable stays in Newfoundland's B&B. Doreen was an amazing host with the best Blueberry pancakes, ham and fruit salad to top it off. Truly an amazing experience. It was like being home. Now, I can see why her B&B is so hard to book. As she says everyone is meant to meet for a reason and we were meant to meet Doreen!

I stayed three nights. Accommodation was excellent, breakfasts were awesome and Doreen and Brian were great. I enjoyed Breakfast theatre performed by Doreen. The best B&B I have ever stayed in.

Two retired couples stayed here in September 2013. Doreen is an amazing host. Her Jiggs dinner was superb, and she played the "Ugly Stick" with great gusto! The rooms are very comfortable and the house easy to find. Doreen helped us with deciding what to do in the area, and we took her advice in going to Kings Point (and the Whale Museum there is really interesting) and Rattling Brook, as well as the drive up to Beachside. Breakfasts were great! And the Screetching ceremony was a highlight!! Thanks Doreen for a great couple of days - and nights!

Excellent location. 1 1/2 hr from DeerLake airport and .4 km from TCH. Clean and charming rooms, beautiful quilts. Because we were three ladies on a road trip across Nfld we needed a queen bed and cot. Our room was large enough. Doreen was a very entertaining host with her songs in the large comfortable common livingroom. We had a tastefull breakfast of blueberry pancakes topped with fresh fruit and yogurt, made and served with a great smile by Cavell. I would diffently recommend this B&B.

Very clean and comfortable b and b. Quiet and peaceful setting. Doreen is very friendly and entertaining. She makes the best blueberry pancakes. We would return.

We spent two nights with Doreen and would have stayed forever if we could have. She is extremely welcoming and a lot of fun. Where else could we get a free kitchen party while we were having breakfast? She is not only a marvellous cook, a great entertainer and fine hostess, she is also a writer and crafter, and we will treasure the two author-signed books we purchased for our unborn grandchild. We would recommend a stay at Indian River B&B if you have the chance.
