We were visiting family on St Jo’s Island Ontario and stayed at Stonefieldhouse Bed & Breakfast . Very comfortable and attractive accommodations with beautiful location nestled in a forest . Our hosts, Peggy and Monte made us feel welcome . The breakfasts were delicious thanks to the cullinary skills of Monte. Served in a Irish pub-like atmosphere on the lower level. Definitely a great place to stay when you are on the island. Bentley, a yellow lab mix , affectionate and amusing.

Outstanding accommodations and terrific hosts at Stonefield B&B. My mother and I came to the island for relaxation and Maple Syrup season. Our room has two comfortable twin beds and a private bathroom with shower. There's a mini fridge in our room, along with a tv and good outlets for electronics.

We went to a pancake house for breakfast, this morning, but I appreciated the early morning coffee, set up in the hall, right outside of our room. We'll be having breakfast here, tomorrow morning and I'm sure that it will be delicious. I'm also enjoying their terrific library filled with many of my favorite fiction authors. The wifi has been quick and reliable. Overall, a really outstanding B&B.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Stonefield House. They are in a perfect location to explore all St Joseph Island has to offer. Peggy and Monte are excellent hosts; breakfast in the Irish Pub was bountiful and delicious!

My friend and I enjoyed this B&B, its beautiful setting in the woods, an amazing and extremely clean and beautifully decorated house with tremendous rooms and ensuite bathrooms. I was able to watch the sunset while lying in my bed. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and different every morning. Thank you Peggy for an unforgettable 3 days!

I stayed in the blue room of this magnificent B&B the end of September/early October! The quality of the furnishings are exceptional! You can tell there was a lot of care and thought put into the construction of this B&B! The food was beyond amazing; top chef quality! The grounds are beautiful and the fresh vegetables that come from the gardens add to the quality of the food! Peggy and Monte are gracious generous hosts, and I would recommend this B&B to anyone! I will be back!

Stonefield was great! Peggy and Monty are both extremely friendly and welcoming - the rooms are very clean, and Peggy has ensured to think of lots of little things to make the experience that much better... like Perrier in the rooms in mini-bar fridges, and coffee available upstairs in a Keurig!

The couple have a custom built Irish Pub downstairs in the basement where they serve breakfast - it was delicious and warm, with local maple syrup!

What a delight. After driving 8 1/2 hrs. from Thunder Bay we arrived at Stonefield and were greeted by Peggy along with some wild turkeys who chose to drop by. It was close to Thanksgiving weekend. The décor inside was tastefully done with a lot of attention to detail; outside was quite nice too (wreath; miniature bound hay, etc). We stayed in the bedroom right next to the Library with access to some wonderful classic novels (short stories)and art books (if only we could have stayed longer). The bedroom was cozy; the bedding and pillows were just perfect (blanket not too warm and pillows just right). The temperature in the room was nice and cool which lent itself to a sound sleep. The heat was turned on at the right time in the morning when it was time to get up. We stayed for two nights travelling down to Toronto, and one night on our way back. The breakfasts were plentiful and served in the basement which was decorated as an Irish Pub equipped with a nice gas fireplace. The breakfast consisted of Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, a spoonful of granola if you fancied that; juice, coffee. A platter of either scrambled eggs, French toast, as well as sausages (locally made), peameal bacon, and plain bacon. Homemade bread was also available if you wanted toast. Peggy was informative about the island having lived in the area all her life and provided us with a map so that we could explore what it had to offer. Highly recommended. My friend Gord feels the same way. He tried out some of the musical equipment in the basement (guitar; piano) but was out of practice. Both of us felt it was a place that was inviting and would have been fun had there been a few more people (close friends).

My partner and I stayed here the August long weekend 2014 and loved it! The rooms are bright and airy while the breakfasts were delightful! We would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed the Christmas Lunch for my Quilting Group so much I booked my Birthday Lunch on Friday January 17, 2014 at Stonefield House B&B. The warm and inviting atmosphere, the food and the homemade Birthday Cake added up to a perfect afternoon. I encourage other groups to take advantage of this unique and local establishment for their celebrations. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again Peggy & Monte & Yeti.

Our St. Joseph Island Quilting Group of twelve met for a delicious lunch on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Stonefield House. It was a blustery winter afternoon but we were cozy and warm in the Irish Pub atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, including a pumpkin soup, that was delectable! We will be back and several of us will be calling upon Peggy when visitors out number our home space to stay at the lovely Bed & Breakfast Rooms. Thank you Peggy for a lovely and relaxing afternoon.

I recently enjoyed a lovely overnight stay on the eve of competing in my first triathlon. The home is lovely, the accommodations cozy and the breakfast delicious! I felt at home right away. The owner Peggy was welcoming and caring and took special care to help find my way when I got lost! A memorable part of my adventure!! Highly recommended!!

When I first stayed a Stonefield I came across a baby fawn curled up in the field. That evening we watched the Perseids meteor shower from the same location. Magical! Really the best B&B I've stayed in, and that's quite a few. Highly recommend it.

Just stayed at the coolest and most appealing B&B at the Stonefield House on St. Joesphs Island. The room was amazing and even better they had an Irish pub in their basement. You would think that you were in Ireland! Lots to do on the island and by using the Stonefield as a base camp or pub you will not want to leave! A must visit!

We came to stonefield house with friends for a weekend of bicycling around the island...the b and b is beautiful, the rooms are beautifully decorated with every detail taken into consideration. The hosts Peggy and Monte are wonderful people and serve a spectacular breakfast. For example we had a smoked salmon and asparagus frittata with fresh fruit and other nummy things, great coffee etc. The bicycling was beautiful. You could pick a different route every day and clock as many kilometers as u wanted with little or no traffic!! If coming into the area, this is the b and b to stay at!

- Linda and Peter, from North Bay 24 June 2012

Peggy and Monte, thank you so much for our stay at Stonefield. We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was perfect and breakfasts were great, especially the traditional breakfast. We would also like to thank the two of you for allowing us to host our holiday gathering for family and friends in the pub. It was the perfect venue and we appreciated all your help. Best wishes for an even more successful 2012.
