dot B & B On The Beach
We were two couples on a little road trip from Minnesota. Boy, we’re we lucky to reserve a night a this wonderful spot. Clean as a whistle, plenty of privacy, two bedrooms upstairs with a huge living room, a deck, and right on the water! The advertised gourmet breakfast is an understatement! Billy Jo and Bill will treat you like royalty and old friends at the same time.

- Joe & Linda, Mitchell & Dawn, from Alexxandria, MN & Roseau, MN 11 November 2018

B@B on the Beach was the highlight of our trip. I wish we had booked a week there! The hosts Billie Joe and Bill were fantastic. So welcoming, caring, knowledgeable about the area, just the best! The view is incredible, the rooms were lovely, breakfast fantastic. This is one of the best Bed and Breakfasts we have ever stayed in....(we have covered most of Canada over the years)! Thank you Billie Joe and Bill for a" home away from home stay" in your lovely place!

- karen, from ontario, canada 28 June 2018

We were very appreciative of the warm welcome and flexibility that Billie Jo and Bill showed to us. Even with some confusion around our reservation, the good humour with which we were received was a blessing. The clean and comfortable room and public space was a plus. The food was great!

- Michael & Darlene Gagnon, from Sainte-Flavie , Quebec 25 June 2018

- The Hills, from Ontario , Canada 4 December 2017

This little gem is in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Superior. The house is loaded with character. The guest bedrooms are lovely and we enjoyed the spacious lounge with HDTV and the balcony views of the lake. We stayed only one night and didn't use the spa tub, but the other guests were enthusiastic about it. Billie Jo and Bill are friendly, helpful, and interesting hosts. Lastly -- breakfast! Amazing presentation and delicious to boot. Thanks so much.

- Brenda Miller, from Winnipeg 23 September 2017

Great accomodations and location.Kayaking off the beach was prefect. The Keatings made you feel "right at home" throughout the stay.I highly recommend this gem.

- Richard, from Lethbridge AB 20 July 2016

This is long overdue but our stay was in June 2015 when we were kayaking in the area. Simply stated, you can tell that Billie Jo and Bill take great pride ( while doing everything that they can) to ensure that you have a very pleasant stay with them and get to enjoy this beautiful setting and the surrounding area. The food was excellent and well presented and the accommodations superb. Thanks again for such an delightful stay.

- Cindy & Bob, Cathy & Joe, from Thunder Bay, On 6 February 2016

What a fantastic location, and comfortable lodgings. The fact that they built new and in the meantime preserved part of their original log cabin made the building very comfortable and interesting. The greeting was informative and friendly, details were looked after, The bed in the rose room was very comfy for a good night sleep, and we woke to a delicious breakfast all homemade by Billie Jo! But best of all was the warm and friendly service, with great northern ontario stories. Will definitely return!

- Carolyn Henry, from Thunder Bay 31 August 2015

I stayed one night with my girlfriend and was very happy with the friendly service & hospitality shown to us by Bill & Billie Jo. The setting is beautiful with a million dollar view, the accomodations very comfortable & clean and the sumptuous breakfast was to die for! We'll definitely make this trip again next summer.

- Terry Cameron, from Thunder Bay 31 August 2015

We knew Billie Jo when she worked at the Rossport Inn and found her very personable and friendly. Once we learned that she had opened her own B & B we were anxious to stay there. What a beautiful spot and we could not have been treated better each time that we have stayed. This last time we finally met her husband Bill whom we had heard so much about but had not met. He is now her right hand help now that he has retired from CP Rail. Her recent awards are well deserved as she has worked very hard to make this business a success. Keep up the good work and we hope to stay with you again in the not too distant future.

- John and Alison Dove, from Dryden, Ontario 20 December 2014

My husband surprised me with a lovely weekend get away for our 25th anniversary. What an incredible weekend we had the first word that comes to my mind when I think of B&B on the Beach is "serenity". We went for a stroll along the beach, did some site seeing of the area had a lovely dinner in Rossport and topped the evening off with a piece of Billie-Jo's homemade pie and great conversation. This place was perfect and the hosts Billie-Jo and Bill were very welcoming and attentive. The breakfasts were delicious and made to order. We just want to say this experience will always be remembered fondly and we highly recommend B AND B ON THE BEACH. Thank you for welcoming us to your home and starting our 25th year off with an incredible weekend.

- Deborah and Bryan Dika, from Thunder Bay, On 19 December 2014

We received a very warm welcome from Billie-Jo and Bill in their lovely home. They are great hosts with a huge amount of knowledge of the area. The view was outstanding. The breakfasts were out of this world. Thank you for a memorable stay!

- Anonymous, from Norfolk, England 24 August 2014

My daughter called B & B On the Beach, "A home away from home!" I will add that it is a truly beautiful home away from home. We have stayed at B & B On the Beach a number of times. Billy Jo and Bill are wonderful hosts. Besides a beautiful place to stay, friendly hosts, breakfast is always scrumptious. Thanks for all our visits, and look forward to our next stay!

- Shirley Ann and Paul, from Toronto 7 August 2014

My daughter, Brandy, 2 young granddaughters and I had the great luck to happen upon this wonderful Bed and Breakfast in May. We were travelling home to Brantford, Ontario from B.C. We were tired and it was pouring rain and about 11 p.m. Billy Jo welcomed us and made us feel right at home. I can't say enough about this beautiful place except that I was very sad we couldn't have stayed another day, to enjoy the beach and any other attractions. The guest area was amazing! Spacious, clean, comfortable and Billy Jo pays close attention to all the little details. Loved all the memorabilia, the view, and the breakfast that Billy Jo and Bill served us was second to none. We were SO impressed with it all being home grown/home made and it was absolutely delicious. My granddaughters, Jaceb and Hanna, ages 8 and 5 were in awe of everything and especially liked the chance to visit with the hosts' little 'granddog'. We all had a wonderfully comfortable sleep, a much needed shower and this amazingly delicious breakfast. I cannot give enough praise to these wonderful people for opening their home to strangers, treat them as friends, and make them feel so welcome. I only wish it was closer as I would love to do a 'sisters' weekend or a weekend with my bff. I have recommended your Bed and Breakfast to many people already and left your brochures in the Tourist Information Centre here in Brantford. I can only hope that I'll have occasion to pass that way again, and you can be sure I will make this a must to stay there again. Thank you so much for such a memorable end to our trip.

- Lynn McNeilly, from Brantford, Ontario, Canada 14 September 2013

I was thinking of taking my wife Sherri to a perfect place for our anniversary. I wanted to do something different that no other place offered. I discovered this place was perfect and the hosts Billy-Joe and Bill were welcoming and attentive. It was more than what we expected. The breakfast was superb and to top it off it was home made.I just want to say this experience will always be remembered fondly and we highly recommend B AND B ON THE BEACH. Thank you for welcoming us to your home.

- rob and sherri young, from thunder bay 9 September 2013

My husband and I recently stayed at this wonderful, charming B&B and very much loved it. We were on our motorcycles traveling around superior for the circle tour and spent an evening in the rose room. It was comfortable and clean and the proprietors Billy Jo and Bill were welcoming and attentive. The hubby and I enjoyed some time on the beachfront, and dipped ourselves in the waters of superior. Breakfast was cooked to order, very gracious being that the hubby and I don't always like the same things.! Thank you Billy Jo and Bill for making our adventure that much better! See you again!

- Pamela & Troy Cox, from Becker, MN 13 July 2013

We had the pleasure and delight to be able to enjoy the comforts of B & B on the Beach on our cross-Canada trip in a large U-Haul truck. Good roads around Lake Superior, and absolute heaven to find such a nice place to relax and discover, and Billie Jo & Bill are wonderful hosts! The care they have taken to ensure every detail one could dream of having (some examples are the room, upstairs deck, chairs, towels, movies, memorabilia, antiques, humming birds, the LAKE) including great conversation, history and area information, as well as gourmet food. Highly highly recommend. Book early, as they are very popular and you may not have the good luck we had finding an opening in their booking schedule at the last moment, but even so, give them a call or e-mail if you are find yourself in the area, you'll be glad you did. The good memories we have while at B & B on the Beach will last a lifetime, and we are already thinking of a return trip as soon as possible.

- Warren & Jackie, from Ottawa, ON 3 December 2012

Bob and I stayed one night on our trip to Alberta. Would have stayed longer if we weren't in a bit of rush. Loved everything about this place: food, views, hosts, all outstanding. Hope we get a chance to stay again some time. Will recommend B&B on the Beach to any friends who may be travelling around Lake Superior.

- Anne and Bob, from Newmarket, Ontario 18 October 2012

I stayed overnight while travelling on business. A really picturesque place to stay! Great hosts, great morning breakfast. My only regrets were that my wife was not with me to enjoy the B&B and I could not stay longer!

- Tim, 11 October 2012

It has been several years since I stayed at a B & B. I count myself lucky to have stumbled across this delightful spot in Rossport. The view is spectacular, the house immaculate and the company most accommodating and friendly. I would certainly go back.

- Chris Dalby, from Leaskdale, Ontario 28 September 2012

Our first bed and breakfast experience was amazing. Billie Jo and Bill made us feel right at home. The homemade rhubarb juice was to die for. Great views from the private deck and shoreline. Thank you for a great experience.

- Christine & Mike, from St. Louis Park, MN 9 September 2012

Our stay was delightfully relaxing. The hospitality and food were excellent. The Keatings renewed my faith in B and B's. Diane and I had wished we were able to stay longer, but our journey required us to move on.

- David & Diane Richard, from Renfrew, Ontario 19 August 2012

While traveling to Thunder Bay, we had the opportunity to experience B & B On The Beach, a wonderful bed & breakfast 5 km east of Rossport.

As the name implies, it is on the beach of Lake Superior and has great guest facilities. The grounds are well manicured with attractive colourful flower beds and sitting benches to take in the view. A boat is anchored just offshore and we were offered a ride if we so chose. There's also a spot for evening bonfires.

The lodge is nicely decorated, very clean and well maintained. We had one of two upstairs bedrooms and use of an upstairs semi-private living room and deck overlooking Lake Superior. After snacking on the upstairs patio and watching the sun set, we retired to the living room where we surfed the net on our laptop then watched the day's news on the big screen satellite TV. Everything we could want was there for our use and we felt very much at home.

That evening we selected our breakfast items from a menu, which, in addition to regular breakfast items, included fresh fruit, crepes, various omelets, home fries, homemade blueberry jam, homemade juice and a variety of exotic coffees & teas. The following morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast freshly prepared by Billy Jo at our chosen time.

The proprietors, Billie Jo & Bill Keating, obviously put great effort into pleasing their guests and take great pride in providing an exceptional B&B experience. Although we've stayed at many B&B's both in Canada & England, B&B On The Beach has set a high standard that few have matched.

- Clint & Laurie, from Waterloo,ON 21 July 2012

Had the pleasure of staying here last week, and absolutely love the place! Billie Jo and Bill made us feel like family, great hosts, super comfy bed,GREAT breakfast, can't think of a single complaint, will gladly return for another peaceful sleep

- Dorion Ozykowski ( Nose ), from Rainy River,On 18 June 2012

This B&B was perfect for a sisters getaway. Located on the shores of Lake Superior it offers direct access to the beach, a private setting, unobstructed views and the sound of the waves lapping against the rocks at night. The 1945 log cabin has been expanded and now features a comfortable upper-level guest suite with two bedrooms (queen-beds are very comfortable), a living room, private deck and bathroom. A second bathroom is located on the main floor. Breakfast is an event with delicious crepes and omelettes made to order, homemade bread and jams, fresh fruit with chocolate and bottomless cups of coffee. Next explore the beach, hiking trails and nearby towns, then compete the day with a bonfire on the beach and watch the sunset.

Hosts Billie Jo and Bill Keating open their home to guests with warm hospitality that feels more like being at a friend's cottage than a guest house. Special touches like china and crystal, artwork, quality linens and bath robes blend with the informal, relaxed ambiance for a refined stay.

On Lakeshore Road off Highway 17, about 5kms east of Rossport. www.bbcanada.com/12423.html

- Suzanne Chicoine, from Toronto, Ontario 17 June 2012

The B&B on the Beach is excellent. The hospitality ,rooms, meals and are bar none the best I ever experienced at a B&B! I have stayed with Billy Jo and Bill on two occasions and on my first and second stay I felt treated as welcomed friend. The meals conversation and atmoshpere will keep me coming back. These folks are the definition of great people who care about what they do and the people who visit their lovely home. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience and I know I will be back!

- Jerry Woods, from Thunder Bay ON 15 June 2012

I've been avoiding writing this. I don't want the secret to get out too much, because this wonderful place has only two rooms - so far. On our way to Montreal from Winnipeg last November we happened upon Billie Jo's exquisite B & B. The pictures on the website do it some justice, but the ambince cannot be captured in photos. As if just being on that magnificent body of water that is Lake Superior wasn't enough! From the living room on the second floor in the guest quarters you get a superb view of its moods. The house with attached guest quarters if a combination of rustic charm and modern amenities. Billie Jo keeps it spotless with lots of nice homey touches everywhere you look. The woodstove in the main house gives a special kind of warmth to the whole interior, - a warmth that is augmented by Billy Jo's fussing over you. The meal in the morning was quite the production. Homemade everything - with many things from Billy Jo's own garden. She seems to have studied up on making an art of it. Then to add a special twist, she pointed out that the train whistle we heard while partaking of the lovely meal was in fact her husband Bill passing by in a locomotive (he's an engineer)! That was his greeting as he passed by on the track on the escarpment above the B & B! How's that for special treatment!! to add to the enjoyment, Bill Jo and Bill had plenty of entertaining conversation to offer. We enjoyed talking to them as much as we enjoyed being fussed over. I sure hope there will be room in this inn the next time I am passing through. It's a place one would want to spend a number of days. The setting is so lovely and the hospitality and amenities so very endearing. Keep it up Billy Jo and Bill!!

- Rosemary, from Winnipeg 22 April 2012

Oftentimes you hear people say that visiting a bed and breakfast is like satying at a home away from home....but not me,I could only wish that my home had B & B on the Beach's setting, built-in hosts and gourmet breakfasts that Billi Joe and Bill offer so generously to all their guests. If that isn't enough, you can look forward to sleeping in an amazing bed after enjoying relaxing in the jacuzzi.

- Marybeth Barrett, 30 March 2012

Very late on posting this testimonial. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our walk along the beach in the evening and also the conversation with the hosts over a cup of tea. The breakfast was a great way to start a day. We hope that our travels will take us to Rossport again and this is the place that we will stay. thank you for the enjoyable evening...

- Laverne/Terry O'connor, from Cobourg, Ontario 22 December 2011

On a recent business trip I stayed there for 5 days and the hospitality was great and the breakfast's were delicious.Your host Billy Jo & Bill were very friendly and accomadating and made me feel very welcomed to be there.Unfortunately with the work schedule I didn't get to enjoy the lovely setting of the property but I am sure that it would be a lovely spot to just sit back relax and enjoy the serenity of the place.Kudo's go out to Billy Jo & Bill for all they did for me and if I'm ever in the area again I would definately stop in and say Hi or stay there if the need was there. Many thanks to the Keatings for everything. Definately worth the stay. 5 Star rating as far as I am concerned

- Timothy Hoffele, from Brantford Ontario 22 October 2011

Due to a road closure we had to find any accommodation. And we found an absolutely fine place with wonderful hosts. It was not only a stay but an experience. Thank you !

- Gunther and Monika, from Giengen, Germany 24 September 2011

Finally getting to this testimonial (sorry BJ!) Stayed, more like lived, with the Keatings three days a week from beginning of May to mid June while completing graduate training. They truly made me feel at home by graciously welcoming me into their lives (most importantly, into their kitchen!) Superb food, comfortable beds, cozy living areas, beautiful views (only B and B right on the lake in and around Rossport) and a true feeling of home. I have recommended this spot to everyone I know! Thanks again for everything Bill and Billie Jo!

- Samantha, from Thunder Bay, Ontario 28 August 2011

I stayed here in early July for one night but wish I could have stayed longer. The setting is glorious and Billie Jo is the most gracious hostess. She made me feel extremely comfortable, we shared some wonderful conversation on the deck as we watched the sun set over Superior, and I had a delicious breakfast. The highlight was the homemade rhubarb juice, which I was reluctant to try at first, but was so glad that I did. Fantastic!

Thank you Billie Jo. I hope I can stay again some time.

- Cindy Robinson, from Petrolia, Ontario 22 August 2011

My husband and I arrived at this B&B after a 5-night backcountry hike on the Lake Superior Coastal Trail in August 2011. Billie-Jo was very warm and welcoming. She immediately showed us around the house, and it was obvious how much pride and care both she and her husband take in the property and the business. The B&B is lovely, our room was very comfortable, with good quality linens and everything we could need ready to be used. Billie-Jo was very accommodating in allowing us to wash out dishes and our clothes on-site, which was wonderful for us as we were preparing to start another hike the next day. She stayed up late to make sure that we found everything we needed and that everything we needed to do was done. We slept like logs straight trough the night on the extremely comfortable bed in one of the two rooms (I cannot remember which one). In the morning, Billie-Jo was cheery and obviously happy to be preparing breakfast for us. She chatted with us the entire time, served us plenty of wonderfully tasty food (we each had an omlet, crepes, coffee, toast and jam, and fruit). Billie-Jo was an absolutely wonderful host, opening her home to us and to another family, and making us feel as if we were at home with one of our own mothers. Our experience at B & B On The Beach was absolutely wonderful - we will definitely stay there again whenever we are in the area, and would recommend this B&B to anyone. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

- Natalia & Christopher Harlow, from Toronto ON 15 August 2011

we stayed here one night in July and wished we could stay for a week. the location is beautiful, the lodgings are great and the hosts are funny, kind and thoughtful. we are planning a return trip to visit our new friends at B & B on the Beach and hope to do some rock collecting.

- twintour.ca, from zurich, switzerland and windsor, ontario 7 August 2011

Love B&B on the Beach, wonderful welcome. Fresh line-dried sheets and towels and frequently washed mattress covers and pillow protectors. Beautiful view. Of course it's hard to leave but it was okay knowing we had made new friends. The place is breathtaking with a wonderful history and hardwood floors throughout, but more importantly are the people who run it. You couldn't ask for better people to stay with. We will definitely be there next year!

- The Wise's, from Wisconsin, United States 5 August 2011

Wow, we talked about our stay at this B & B for an hour after leaving and to other's on the way. We were greeted with personalized attention. A very friendly couple who knows how to put their visitors at ease and make them feel comfortable and at home. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and delightful great homemade food served. This is a well maintained home with a beautiful view. This is A1 - 1ST Class. Thank you Bill and Billie Jo for your hospitality. Beautiful, Beautiful. We give you 5/5. Thanking you again.

- E & J Smith, from Windsor 30 July 2011

Do yourself a huge service and book into this wonderful accommodation. It is a real treat. Time with BillieJo is worth the drive alone and when you see your breakfast you will be so glad you stayed. BillieJo's husband Bill is a train engineer and as he passes by he blows the whistle 6 times for BilllieJo and then the neighbours call to make sure she didn't miss it. What a delight. We love it all and will definitely return despite the fact we live nowhere close by.

- Jan Adams, from London, Ontario 15 July 2011

Scott and I stayed here last weekend (July 2~3, 2011) and really, really loved it. The house was beautiful, the scenery was great, the hostess and host were wonderful and entertaining, we had a great sleep because the bed mattress was high quality and the breakfast was both a beautiful sight and quite delicious! We'll definitely return next year! Attractions in the area included: Superior Outfitters Kayaking in the village of Rossport and zip-lining at Eagle Ridge Canyon.

- Robin Danis, from Thunder Bay, ON Canada 11 July 2011

We stayed at this charming Bed and Breakfast on the way to a family wedding in Dryden. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a return visit on our way home. The location is fantastic. It was also very quiet there and evenings on the balcony were a treat. The host and hostess went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and provided lots of information about local attractions, shopping and some local history. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast choices were many and varied. The coffee was memorable. The breakfast table presentation was just as shown in their folder. We would definitely return for another stay when travelling in that area.

Hi there from Jeff & Jocelyn in Labrador!! Just wanted to say what a great pleasure it was to stay with you at your Bed & Breakfast! I (Jocelyn) have never personally stayed at a bed and breakfast but after staying at yours I believe bed & breakfast's are waaaay better than staying at a motel/hotel, the room was fabulous and your hospitality was great. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep!! We enjoyed the beautiful view and the wonderful breakfast also. We recomment your B & B to EVERYBODY!!!! Thanks again for the wonderful memories!

- Jocelyn & Jeff, from Labrador Canada 6 March 2011

If you want a B&B near the water, you can't do better than this! The rooms are lovely, the hosts friendly, the view of the lake breath taking and if that isn't enough wait till you have the breakfast! Thanks Bill and Billie Jo!

- Bill & Mary Jarrett, from Thunder Bay ON 15 November 2010

Staying at B&B on the Beach on August 31st, 2010 was my first B&B experience and let me tell you, they have set the bar high!! From the first moment I pulled up after a long day of driving, I felt so welcomed by Billie Jo, who is a superb hostess. My room was perfect, the company was outstanding and breakfast the next morning was beyond expectations!! Thank you Billie Jo, and as I said, we will be back with hopes to meet the other "B" of B&B on the Beach.

- Rose Lund, from Toronto, ON 28 September 2010

In July my wife and I were attending the 125th anniversary of the Town of Schreiber on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We wanted to be near the water so we elected to stay at the B and B on The Beach. It was the best decision we ever made. Bill and Billie-Jo greet you as guests when you arrive but you leave as friends. The food was great and the scenery is magnificent. We booked for seven days but ended staying for eight. We highly recommend this B and B and we will go back.

- Irv and Pat, from Winnipeg, MB 12 September 2010

We had the privilage of staying at B & B On The Beach for two nights in early August of 2010. Bill & Billie Jo are generous hosts who made us feel right home. The location, view, ameneties, and food exceeded our expectations. We can truly say that staying at the B & B On The Beach was the highlight of our Circle Tour Experience around Lake Superior. We plan on coming back for future trips.

- Bob & Mary Beth Swift, from New Hope, MN USA 23 August 2010

I stumbled across this B&B because I was looking for a place on the water. I found exactly what I wanted and much, much more. Billie Jo and Bill's hospitality, and accommodations are among the best I have experienced and I enjoyed a wonderful two days right on the shores of Lake Superior. This B&B has set a standard for me that will be very difficult to surpass! Thank you to a wonderful hostess and host.

- Don, from Ottawa 11 July 2010

This B&B was recommended by a work colleuge. As the team I work for travels the North Shore regularly I was really looking forward to trying out this new B&B. Everything about our stay was wonderful! It was nice to have a relaxing bath and sit on the patio overlooking the lake. The guest suites are complete with everything needed and offer privacy if wanted. Breakfast was certainly gourmet! i look forward to returning on our next trip to the Schrieber/Terrace Bay area!

- Michelle, ISNC Physiotherapist, from Thunder Bay, ON 24 June 2010

Thank you Billie Jo and Bill for a wonderful stay. I was working in the area and needed a place to stay and your B&B was far above my expectations. Your house is beautiful and you made me feel at home. The beds, linens were cozy and one of the things I enjoyed the most was the location - right on the beach! Amazing views and the sound of waves going to sleep was very relaxing.

Billie Jo, thank you for your lovely breakfast! I really enjoyed the fresh rhubard juice! I have never had that before.

Thanks again for making us feel at home and enjoy your home for the evening.

- Andrea Smith, from Toronto, Ontario 1 May 2010

Wonderful place! Great people, great spaces, great breakfast. Best coffee in Ontario - 48 hours fresh from El Salvador! Peaceful and calming location and very helpful and nice hosts.

- tamerrah, 2 April 2010

We were familiar with Billie Jo from our previous years diners at The Rossport Inn, and we happy her hospitality continued to her new B&B. We are new to the B&B scene and couldn't be happier. BJ's and Bills home was beautiful both inside and out. The guest rooms and common area were a treat and we really appreciated the ceiling fan for our rather rare warm September evenings. I also enjoyed a rather cool swim out their front door on the sandy lake Superior shore. Evenings were spent enjoying the sunsets on the 2nd floor balcony over looking beautiful Lake Superior. Our breakfasts were wonderful, one morning we enjoyed french toast with fresh homemade blueberry compo and the next we tried delicious homemade omelets. With Billie Jo's breakfasts we didn't have to worry about lunch, since we were so full from breakfast:) Much to do around the area including fine dining in Rossport at The Serendipity Gardens and Rossport Inn or a more casual dining experience in nearby Schreiber.

BTW even though BBCanada lists B&B On The Beach as Schreiber it's really closer to Rossport. We'll be back!

- Jeff & Martha, from Minneapolis MN 20 September 2009

We were planning our vacation earlier this summer (2009), and we were referred to this B&B. It was just starting up the month we were there. A short drive from Rossport lead us to B&B on the Beach. It is in a lovely home right on the beach, of course! We enjoyed the beautiful deck (facing Lake Superior) off of the second floor (where the bedrooms and common area are). It is a stunning view! We enjoyed watching a blue heron explore the beach below us. There are also lovely sitting areas on the beach (which is sandy rather than rocky).

Billie Jo and Bill were superb hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed at our share of B&Bs, but Billie Jo's breakfasts were fantastic--the best we have had anywhere. Thoughtful options were offered--we particularly enjoyed the crepes, homemade rhubarb juice, and the homemade mango compote.

One last note for coffee snobs (such as ourselves)--we had great coffee--the best in our three week trip.

We highly recommend B & B on the beach!

Walkers/hikers: enjoy the beautiful Rainbow Falls hike at the park nearby. It is a moderate hike (with stairs) that later transitions into just a bit more challenging hike up a hill (view is worth it!).

- Oly & Laura, from Winnipeg 13 September 2009

We stumbled upon this location as we were exploring the side roads off the Trans-Canada Hwy. and we couldn't have found a more hospitable welcome. From Bill's initial invitation to tour the B&B to the last nostalgic farewell 2 days later, we found this new B&B to offer meet every one of our desires. We loved the location right on the edge of the "Big Sea" waters; we loved the comfort of the bed and fluffy robes, the convenience of the adjacent sitting room, the ambiance of the log cabin and the new addition. We loved the breakfast which was not only a feast for the taste buds, but a feast for the eyes as well. We would have loved to have stayed longer in order to sample all the delectable options. I think our favorite was the rhubarb juice! Bill & Billie Jo were the perfect hosts ... when we left, it was like leaving long-lost friends. We will always think of our 2-day sojourn there as a highlight of our Circle Tour. We will definitely return! --- Richard & Julie
