Adel, we just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay with you. The lesson in getting a lobster ready to eat came in handy later on our trip. If you ever come in to Ontario be sure to hunt us up. Thank you again.... you were wonderful hosts. Joe and Esther (bus driver with the amish family)

Stayed here in August 2017. Fabulous breakfast, people, location, bonfire in evening, lake, home, etc. Lovely dog, Can't say anything bad about this place.

- Barbara, from Connecticut 25 August 2017

Gorgeous! Adele and Bob are wonderful lovely hosts that make you feel home with the first moment you enter the house! We felt like adopted to the family. Thank you very much for hosting us in your absolutely quiet and paradise-like home directly at the lake with only stars beaming above you during the night. Stay healthy - hoping to see you again.

- Michaela & Michael (M&M), from Heusenstamm, Germany 1 July 2017

We loved our stay at Tranquil Times! Lovely home, comfy bed, very nice room, delicious breakfast with home made fresh bread and homemade jams. It's a great place to go! Adele and Bob are wonderful hosts!

We've spent two nights at Adele and Bob's but we could have stayed much longer. They are the perfect hosts. House and location are perfect too. Thank you very much!

- Ana Álvarez and Ralf Streicher, from Germany 3 June 2016

What an idyllic place and so aptly named!! Adele and Bob are the perfect hosts. And what about that chocolate cake and lemon/blueberry cake served at the camp fire - just fabulous! Thanks for everything!! You made our trip! We give you a 10 for the best B&B. Horace & Ella - Moncton, N.B.

It was great to be with you! Your hospitality is the best in the world! I loved it to be there!

- Sonja Veldheer, from Haarlem, The Netherlands 3 September 2013

Aptly named - You'd be hard-pressed to find a more tranquil B&B or more delightful hosts. Adele's cheery disposition is a breath of fresh air! Great conversation (over chocolate cake) in the evening. Unfortunately we missed out on the campfire experience at the water's edge because of rainy weather. Breakfast was yummy! We enjoyed our brief visit immensely. Wishing you only the best that life has to offer!

Another wonderful vacation at Tranquil Times. Bob and Adele are the perfect hosts and Adele's breakfasts are just a delight. As beautiful to look at as they are delicious to eat. The evening bonfires are a wonderful opportunity to get to know the other guests and often to learn something of other cultures. Tranquil Times is perfectly placed for exploring Keji, the Fundy Shore, Annapolis Valley, the French Coast with its beautiful churches - and beaches, and whale watching trips from Brier Island. Early morning canoeing on Sandy Bottom Lake is highly recommended. With luck, you may catch sight of Loons and hear their ethereal cry - wonderful! Planning our next vacation already.

We are a family of four and we spent three unforgettable nights in this beautiful place. If you are looking for a nice and quiet surrounding, great breakfast, very welcoming hosts, clean and nicely decorated rooms, good talks at the bonfire, great suggestions concerning restaurants and places to visit, a perfect place to discover Keji NP and Annapolis Royal and warm Canadian hospitality - you will find it right here. Thank you, Adele and Bob, for opening your place to us; you have made our visit in your region an unforgettable one for us.

- Isabel and family, from Germany 12 October 2011

Dear Adele We loved the stay in your 'B&B at the lake'. The chats at the campfire continued during the marvellous breakfast, we hardly dared to taste the fruit as it was presented as a real artwork. Thanks for sending us trought 'Small Switserland' to that special restaurant at Bear River.

This is an exceptional B&B , we loved the place and but even more we loved the hosts. Adele and Bob are just like family. They have found their little piece of heaven , and we are lucky that they will share it with us. The best time was sharing a lobster dinner with them, their family and friends.

- Marleine and Bill, from Sorrento BC 4 June 2011

Bob & Adele - Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed your B&B and to thank you for the gracious hospitality you extended to us while we were there. While we enjoyed every minute at your "Tranquil Times", the highlight of our stay was probably our canoe trip to the far end of the lake and back. It was peaceful and serene and a wonderful way to spend a morning. Kindest regards.

It's hard to write something about such a great place that hasn't already been said. While on a trip to Pier 21 in Halifax to visit where my parents and I landed in 1957, my father and I had the pleasure of staying at some remarkable B&B's. But none compare to warmth and comfort we felt in the tranquil setting of a such fine home with even better hosts. It was like mom was with us again. Home baked bread, freshly picked blueberries and a mouthwatering breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer. I'm sure there'll be a next time. Thanks again Adele and Bob. :)

My wife and I spent our vacation in Nova Scotia celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and spent each night in a different B&B around NS. Tranquil Times was our best experience. Bob and Adele were great. All the guests sat around a bonfire in the evening and roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. Adele made us a chocolate cake in celebration of our anniversary. The house was immaculate, the breakfasts filling and delicious and the setting was beautiful and remote. I would recommend this B&B to anyone. Wish we had booked another night.

- Dave and Emily, from Columbus, Ohio 12 August 2010

Bob, Adele and their dog KoKo made us feel a part of the family from the moment we arrived until our departure. During our 2 day stay, out of town family members were arriving for a family function. The family went out of their way to ensure that we were included. A beautiful home, tasty breakfasts and very warm hospitable hosts. The Bonn Fires were awesome! Thank you for making our stay in Annapolis Royal very comfortable and memorable.

- Don and Delia, from Scarborough, Ontario 7 July 2010

What a find, a real gem. This is the best B & B we have ever stayed at. The setting is gorgeous, the breakfasts are wonderful. The evening bonfires are a delight. Wow,the skies are clear there - saw the space station and the shuttle pass overhead, wonderful. Good music, good company, good conversation. Placed ideally for Keji, whale watching, hiking, or, of course relaxing. You can sit and watch the beavers swim by, admire the bullfrogs, see the kingfishers, or canoe down the lake. You can even take the resident dog (KoKo) for a walk if you are missing your own pet - whch we did.Would we come again? yes, we've been here 8 tmes since we found it in 2003.

- Peter and Tamara Freeman, from North Yorkshire, Engalnd. 24 September 2009

WOW !!! What a fantastic find. This place is fantastic. A very well furnished, confortable and amazing accomodation in a very quiet location, yet close to anapolis Royal. We were made to feel very at home, in fact we were that welcome we didn't want to leave. The breakfast was amazing, nearly as amazing as the building work the owners have lovingly put into their property (ask to see the photo of the origional building - you will not beleive it) We left with full stomachs and full hearts, thanks very much for making our stay a memorable one. Love to Co-co !!

- Chris & Jacqui Kitson, from yorkshire, England 23 September 2009

The finest B&B experience we've ever had...and we have enjoyed many great accomodations and people throughout Atlantic Canada. But we return annually to Tranquil Times for several days each time. Every aspect is perfection and fun but the real heart and soul of the place is Adele and Bob Thompson. We are proud to recommend their home and their hospitality as a destination or a stopover.

Loved my stay! The view is beautiful, the peaceful setting is refreshing and the owners are great. The bonfire was a lot of fun, cooking marshmellows and making smores. The room was beautiful. Thanks for a great stay.

- Katie, from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada 1 September 2009

Simply the best B&B experience we've ever had! Lovely surroundings, great canoeing, fun bonfire, and great company! Not to mention the incredible accomadations and breakfast! We will be back soon!
