Clair and Sandy welcomed us when we arrived and made our stay relaxing! We felt right at home especially with a hot breakfast and good conversation. We discovered St. Joseph's is a large, beautiful island with a great view of the shipping lane while sitting and relaxing on the front porch. More than that, Clair can tell you about the individual ships as they made way to their destination. Our hosts were helpful in suggesting places of interest to visit such as Ft. Saint Joseph. The British and First Nations people launched an invasion as part of the War of 1812 from this site attacking Mackinac Island, MI where my wife and I just visited. Want to get away from the traffic and crowds? This is it. Take your time and relax at Clair and Sandy's Sunnyside Bed & Breakfast!

We had a wonderful time visiting with Clair, Sandy and Bailey! We were made to feel right at home. It was like visiting old friends. The island is beautiful with its wild flowers and old barns. It was so relaxing to sit on the front porch and watch the ships pass by. Clair and Sandy were so helpful in suggesting places of interest for us to visit. Best B&B experience ever!

This was our first B&B experience and we are now seriously addicted! Loved it here so much that we booked both rooms for our return trip with our son and his girlfriend. Immaculate accommodations and yummy breakfast. The view of the channel and the passing freighters was exciting. Visits from deer, cranes and loons also fun. Clare & Sandy delightful hosts and made us feel we were honorary "islanders". George says thanks for the puddingstone, Sandy ! Do not miss the Sunnyside experience !!!!

I guess we are now considered regulars! We stop here each year on our way to and from Western Canada. It is one of the highlights of our trip. Clair and Sandy and Bailey are terrific. Lots of wildlife and if you like ships, watching the lakers navigate the channel is very satisfying. Drinking beverages on the veranda and chatting with the Sandy and Clair is a welcome end to a long day's drive. We will be back.

Very comfortable home with a fine sandy beach a short walk down the lawn. I sat on the beach and watched the sun go down over the USA, just across the channel. A piano is available for those who can play. I enjoyed spending time with the owners and their dog and would love to return someday.

Great place! Warm and friendly hosts (Clair and Sandy), gregarious dog (Bailey), excellent food, comfortable beds, and with all that there's the super views close up of passing Great Lakes freighters, and a fascinating island just waiting to be explored. Stay 2 nights so you can explore all the wonders of this place captured in time. I have every intention of returning.

We just returned home after a three night stay at Sunnyside B&B. What a wonderful trip! The home is beautiful and so well done. We were most comfortable and made to feel so welcome by Sandy and Clair, and Bailey the dog! We stayed in the quaint Lakeside room. We were able to see the ships go by right out the window and were greeted by the deer on the lawn. The view of the water is so beautiful and serene. The bed was comfortable and inviting. I couldn't wait to get under the covers in the evening. Sandy and Clair saw to our every need. We enjoyed our breakfast and relaxing morning tea and coffee and many laughs. Sandy and Clair helped us organize our activities and were able to recommend great things for us to do, places to shop and eat. We can't wait to come back to this wonderful B&B on beautiful St. Joseph Island.

Thank you Sandy and Clair for your most charming hospitality! You provided us with elegant and superbly comfortable lodgings, with impeccable attention to detail. The gourmet breakfast was a pure pleasure to both the eyes and the palate, and the view of the freighters from the porch was totally fascinating! Your B&B is a absolute gem!
