Absolutely beautiful and so so clean! The hosts are lovely. We will be back again. July 2019. Jessica

- Jessica, from Ontario 22 July 2019

My husband and I spent one evening at Willow Shores in July 2019. The hosts, Charlene and Gord, were very welcoming and hospitable. They virtually open their whole house to guests. The house is beautiful with lovely outdoor space. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the water. The breakfast was delicious...no one will leave hungry! Charlene even sent us off with a delicious home made muffin ?? Our bed was extremely comfortable and the bedroom and bathroom were very clean with lovely decor. Thanks Charlene and Gord for a lovely stay.

- Patti, from Manitoulin Island 21 July 2019

My wife and I enjoyed Willow Shores B&B on Canada Day weekend 2019. We were very welcomed from the start of our stay. Charlene and Gord are charming and friendly. They gave us access to everything on the property. For our 4 nights there, we felt part of the family. Charlene is very hospitable; however we also had a lot of privacy. Charlene is very knowledgeable about Manitoulin Island. She was more than happy to provide us info about interest points (they are a lot). The location is just brilliant for getting away from the hassle. The house is like a museum; however it is comfortable and welcoming as well. Our room - Music Room - is very comfortable, large and very nicely decorated. The private patio overlooking the shore is perfect for having a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of red wine at sunset. There is kitchen access for hot drinks and a fridge with chilled bottled water and juice. The property is quite large with a wide open waterfront. There are plenty of chairs to relax, a fire pit, a hammock, canoes and kayaks. The breakfasts were very tasty with a varied selection of Charlene's home cooking. We are recommending Willow Shores to anybody who wants to recharge his battery and spend some real good time in the picturesque Manitoulin Island. We will be back for sure. We recently stayed for 3 amazing nights at Willow Shores Bed & Breakfast at Manitoulin Island. It was our first experience at a B&B and we booked it only on the basis of the reviews on the internet. Willow Shores is truly a gem - beautiful, peaceful, an immaculate place to stay and Charlene is a hostess par excellence!! The décor is very tasteful and interesting. There is thoughtful attention to detail – like make-up remover, mouthwash, ear buds, etc. in addition to the usual soap, shampoo, moisturizer, etc. in the washrooms, very comfortable beds and alarm clocks on the nightstand that project the time on the ceiling! Each room has a theme – like the Music room (where we stayed), the Ships room and others. I have never seen a cleaner home/B&B and the breakfasts were fantastic. Charlene generously packed muffins for us as we went sight-seeing for the day. The owners Charlene and Gord are hosts extraordinaire, very knowledgeable about the history and attractions of the area. Charlene is truly a superwoman and works very hard raising the bar at this B&B. She certainly made us feel welcome and regaled us with interesting stories. We would return in a heartbeat; if only it was not a 7 hour drive. But we will return – hopefully in the not too distant future – to partake in the warmth of Willow Shores B&B.

- Arlene & Gail Barneto, from Mississauga, Ontario 4 June 2019

Charlene and Gord have raised the bar for B&Bs! We stayed there for three nights the last week of July, 2018. We were warmly greeted by Charlene who showed us around and introduced us to the other guests. The guest rooms are large, clean and inviting. The common areas are also large and well-furnished. The breakfasts are simply awesome! And the water craft are all seaworthy and fun. During our kayak around the nearby island, we spotted the local bald eagle - a definite bonus! Charlene made terrific recommendations for trails to walk and sites to visit, and where to eat (check out the Garden's Gate restaurant!). Overall, we would give Willow Shores five stars and would return there in a heartbeat!

- Dennis & Pam Ablett, from Whitby, Ontario 29 July 2018

Willow Shores was an amazing B&B. My boyfriend and I really loved it. Charlene and Gord were wonderful host's. The room and whole house was very clean and so inviting. Beautiful view of the water. Charlene made a fantastic breakfast in the morning. It was a perfect start to our holiday. Will be back again next trip to the island.

- Terry Stewart, from Wasaga beach, Ontario 24 June 2018

Charlene and Gord were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome to their amazing home. The room was excellent. The house has an amazing view of the lake and we were enchanted by this at sunset time. We were sorry not use the offered canoes/kayaks and profit more of this fantastic location. It was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. Charlene made us delicious pancakes for breakfast. I will recommend this B&B to everyone I know traveling in the area and look forward for the opportunity of staying there again and certainly more than 1night.

- Joana Leitao, from Berlin, Germany 31 May 2018

We recently spent 2 wonderful nights with Charlene and Gord. Its really difficult to add anything new to previous comments which are all outstanding and deservedly so. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this B&B and the very charming, hospitable, knowledgeable and gracious hosts. They go above and beyond the call of duty and this was especially helpful as we had a problem with our car and a ferry deadline to meet. We would love to come again sometime and maybe bring our Canadian familyy

- Anne and Michael, from Desborough UK 19 June 2017

We spent 2 nights at this amazing bed and breakfast this year May 2017 , we loved it !!! Gord and Charlene are the best we especially the love the breakfasts that were made every morning :) . We highly recomand this bed and breakfast .

We just spent 3 wonderful, relaxing days at Willow Shores. Charlene & Gord made us feel most welcome from the moment we stepped into their lovely home. The breakfasts are amazing! The view is amazing! Charlene had lots of stories to share with us & was very helpful with suggestions as to where we should go for our suppers. All in all a great experience from beginning to end and hopefully we will get back for another visit soon.

- Ed & Dee, from Sauble Beach, Ontario, Canada 3 October 2016

Stayed at Willow Shores B&B august 3rd and 4th... had a wonderful stay. Your hosts are very knowledgeable about the area they live in. Could have spent a lot more time on their island.

Charlene and Gord were excellent hosts - very friendly, informative, and helpful. The accommodations were excellent. The house has a great view of the lake, and waterfront access. Hosts were very gracious in offering the chance to use the paddle-boats, canoes and kayaks. It was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this B&B.

- Andrew, from Brantford, Canada 1 September 2015

Willow shores is a little oasis on Manitoulin Island and offers a home away from home environment. Gord and Charlene are fantastic hosts and the food was excellent. Stayed here August 2015.

We stayed here last week. what an amazing place! Charlene and Gordon are so friendly and really care that all their guests have a great experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated with every thing needed to make you feel at home. The entire home is shared with guests, TV room, game room, living room. The land is beautiful with so many outdoor areas to use right on the lake. Breakfast is a real feast. This is a 5star B&B.

- Audrey and Cheryl - 2seniors from Niagara, from Niagara 8 September 2014

It's a lovely location and the host couple are super friendly! Our room was perfect.

- Glen and Brenda Brown, from Hamilton, ON 25 August 2014

Willow Shores was a home away from home while we were on Manitoulin Island. Charlene and Gord were super friendly and helpful with giving suggestions of things to see and do. The accommodations were excellent, very clean and cozy feeling. Great breakfast also. I definitely recommend Willow Shores to anyone headed to Manitoulin Island.

- Kelli, from Alberta 21 July 2014

This is the place i've been searching for all the time. My friends and I stayed there in Aug, 2012. I was surprised by how much nicer it is than the pics. I remember one room's roof is made by glass. that's where i stayed. there is a beautiful backyard in the lakefront and tens of activities for you to do for two full days! the most impressive part is that the owner chased us out when we left by bare feet to give us the hand-writing recipe of the breakfast just because he heard we were talking that we really like it. What a nice couple! I'm so touched. I've been always thinking of going back to stay there more time. This is the time. And i've been tracing all the emails back to find it. It's worthy of it. Highly recommended. Trust me, it offers you more than you expect!!

- Kate, from Toronto 27 June 2014

We stayed at Willow Shores B&B for one night (Oct 2013) only as they were booked full the next day. The owners were on vacation and we had her mother Betty as host with help from Bonnie, the owner's sister. We had a lovely time. The grounds were beautiful, breathtaking view of the lake and the fall colors. The Memory garden was lovely and a peaceful spot to sit. We would have loved to stay outdoors longer but it was too chilly that evening. The B&B was very clean and comfy. Awesome view of sunrise. Breakfast was sausage, fried potatoes, fruits, muffins. Nice hearty breakfast to start the day. The B&B was easy to find and located close to the town centre of Manitowaning. Hope someday we can come back! Highly recommend!

- Jayson and Christine, from London, ON 30 October 2013

Simply awesome!

- E$J, 18 September 2013

The best B&B we ever had. We enjoyed our visit to Manitowaning for the second time and we hope its not the last. Charlene and Gord did everything for us and our three children during our visit for 10 days. It was a pleasure for us to meet you again.

- Martin, Sonja, Rasmus, Jari & Stina, from Bochum, Germany 21 August 2013

The best!! We enjoyed everything.Clean comfotable and Gord and Charlene made us feel like family.......felt at home.

- Judy, from Wisconsin 17 August 2013

This is by far the best B&B we have stayed in. This is really a gem! Our hosts, Charlene and Gord, make us immediately feel home and do their best to make your stay unforgettable. All guest rooms are so lovely decorated and very clean. The room was made up every day, and even the towels were changed daily. We stayed in the Ship room - beautiful room - huge bed and lovely bathroom. The view from the terrace of the lake and their garden is absolutely awesome. We also enjoyed Charlene's delicious homecooked breakfast and very helpful advice on what to see and where to go on Manitoulin Island. In the evening after a lovely barbeque with Gord grilling and Charlene spoiling us, it was lovely to sit and enjoy their company, the view and all the good and interesting conversations. We felt like at home. We also liked the location of this B&B, as it is quite easy to find and a short drive to the ferry. There's plenty to do and see in the area, or you can use the B&Bs own kayaks, canoe or paddle boat.Staying at the Willow Shores was a real treat for us, and we will definitely come back.

- Alida & Kurt, from Switzerland 15 August 2013

We stayed overnight on July 21st, and it was even nicer than the first time we stayed. The grounds are beautiful, all the way down to the waterfront, and the memory garden is lovely. Ask Charlene for its story. The food is wonderful, the beds comfortable, and the sheets and pillow cases smell good. Charlene and Gord are attentive hosts, and we plan to stay again often.

- Pat and John James, from Lively, Ontario 22 July 2013

We stayed with Charlene & Gord for 3 days and had a GREAT time. They made us feel very welcome - we never felt we were in their way or were imposing on them. They were both very knowledgeable about the area and each day Charlene provided us with a map and driving instructions, depending on what area we wanted to go to. She also indicated worthwhile stops to make along the way. The food was very good & fresh & Charlene was accommodating & sympathetic to our dietary needs. Overall a wonderful stay & we would definitely go back again (& again & again...)! No wonder they book up quickly and for most of the year!

- Kim & Mike Moloney, from Brights Grove, Ontario 19 July 2013

Our stay at Willow Shores Bed & Breakfast for three nights in June 2013 was a wonderful experience. The superb comfort of our accommodation and the company of our hosts Charlene and Gord was a complete treat for the mind, body and soul. They gave us the friendliest welcome and we felt immediately at home. Charlene has a wealth of information regarding sights to see and places to eat on Manitoulin and her breakfasts are a wonder to behold. We stayed in the Ship’s Room which was extremely comfortable and the en-suite bathroom was equally immaculate. The common living areas are a joy with beautifully finished interior decor and tastefully featuring the excellent work of local first nation’s artists. Viewed from the house, the extensive garden slopes down to the lake in a wonderful panoramic outlook. We highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast as a truly delightful accommodation from which to explore Manitoulin.

- Reuben and Barbara, from Markham, Ontario 25 June 2013

We just had to write to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Willow Shores. What a wonderful introduction to Manitoulin - your incredibly friendly welcome made us feel instantly at home. What with your amazing hearty breakfasts, Charlene, and the beautiful home you have that Gord has worked miracles with, we could not have asked for more. Even though our stay was only three days long at the end we felt as if we had known you both for much longer. We enjoyed exploring the freedom and laid-back beauty and nature of Manitoulin with so much input and many suggestions from you Charlene, a memorable visit.

- Anonymous, 17 June 2013

I've just returned to Scotland with my colleague after a working trip on the wonderful Manitoulin Island. We were so fortunate to be placed in the haven of Wilow Shores with the best hosts you could wish for, Char and Gord. The rooms, breakfasts, views, local advice, generosity of spirit and good humour are second to none in the B+B world...I know I'm gushing but it really is the best you'll find anywhere ! Can't recommend highly enough. Neil and Ellyxx

- Neil, from Glasgow,Scotland 5 May 2013

Willow Shores is one of the most beautiful settings I have visited. Gord and Charlene are an amazing couple and go out of their way to make one feel welcome.

- Edie, from Owen sound 16 April 2013

This must be the best B&B on the island!! Wonderful comfortable room (Music Room), great big bed, spacious en suite, great nights' sleep, uninterrupted lake view and of the sunrise. Terrific breakfasts freshly cooked by your hosts, Char and Gord, really get your day off to the best start. Char and Gord are welcoming, knowledgeable, non-intrusive, and have a fund of information about all things Manitoulin. If you're smart enough to choose this B&B, you won't be disappointed!

- Ruth & Jack, from London, UK 4 November 2012

My wife and me stayed in this wonderfull B&B on Oct 11th and 12th, the location is simply fantastic as the house and the rooms. But, most important, was the kindness and the very warm welcome recived from Charlene and Gord that made our stay, for our anniversary, simply great. Charlene helped us to plan a perfect visit of the island and prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners. We felt really at home, far from our home.

- Paolo, from Torino, Italy 16 October 2012

We were lucky enough to pick Willow Shores B&B for our first trip to Manitoulin. Charlene & Gord were fantastic hosts. They made us feel so welcome from the start. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with attention to detail everywhere you looked and the property is very pretty and relaxing. Charlene sat with us every morning & helped plan our day with information on sites to see. The breakfasts were unbelievably delicious with home baked muffins, scones, you name it. We were truly welcomed as friends. Thank you Gord & Charlene. Thinking back on our visit to Manitoulin with smiles!

- Rita & Anthony Mancino, from Port Colborne, On 18 August 2012

We just completed our stay at this woderful BB(2nights). We would highly recommend this establishment. The accomodations are first rate, everthing is spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts are amazing. We could not have had better hosts than Charlene and Gord.

- David & Robin Riddell, from Mississauga, Ontario 14 August 2012

Willows Shore Bed and Breakfast is an absolutely amazing place to stay and I will recommend it to all my friends and family. Charlene and Gord instantly make you feel welcome, as if you are staying with family. The breakfast was delicious and Charlene's home-made muffins were to die for. The B&B was very clean and comfortable and I especially liked the free use of the kayaks, canoe and paddleboat. Charlene and Gord go out of their way to make you feel at home and to ensure that you enjoy your stay on beautiful Manitoulin Island. I would stay at Willows Shore B&B again in a heart beat!

- Melissa, from Toronto 23 July 2012

We've stayed at quite a few B&Bs, but this one is really special. Charlene and Gord are excellent hosts and provide a beautiful place to stay with great food.

- Jack and Janet Boeldt, from USA 23 July 2012

We had a marvellous stay here. We are rather new to B&B's, but felt so comfortable and welcome here. The accomodations were very clean, luxurious and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept on! Gord and Charlene are super folks and we felt like we'd made some valued new friends. We'd recommend this place highly!

- Lynn & Orland Wagner, from Golden Lake, Ontario 21 July 2012

Beds are so comfortable you won't want to leave. Gord and Charlene make you feel like your part of the family. Great hospitality and conversations.

- Carol Hughes, MP, 21 July 2012

We had never stayed at a B&B before but Willow Shores exceeded all of our expectations. We were one of two couples travelling by motorcycle and upon arriving were allowed to park in the garage - very much unexpected but appreciated. Gord and Charlene were both very warm and welcoming. The accommodations are well-appointed, clean, and private. The next morning it rained quite hard and we were welcomed to stay longer until the weather improved for motorcycling. Both Gord and Charlene are both very pleasant, accomodating and are both a wealth of local information about sightseeing on the Manitoulin Island. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. Breakfast was unbelievable. We will stay at Willow Shores again.

- Bill & Emily Van Allen, from Orillia 25 June 2012

- Dwight & Penny, from Waterloo Ontario 16 June 2012

Another great stay at Willow Shores B&B. Obviously it was an extremely comfortable stay given the fact that I slept in a bit longer than anticipated. Thanks again Charlene & Gord for the hospitality!

- Carol Hughes, MP, 11 June 2012

Prior to visiting Manitoulin, we had never stayed at a B&B. After reading all the reviews, we chose to stay at Willow Shores.

Charlene and Gord are wonderful hosts. During our three day's on the Island they made us very welcome. The rooms are spotless(the photos do not do them justice) and the breakfasts are generous and delicious. The Gorman's set a high standard. Thank you for opening your home and allowing us to experience the Island.

- Anonymous, from Bolton, On 5 November 2011

Our hosts Charlene and Gord were absolutely amazing. We were only there for one night, but were very reluctant to leave. The kindness and love that goes into every preparation to make our stay a comfortable, enjoyale and memorable one was second to none. The rooms were beautiful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. It was difficult to leave. Thank you!!

- Nicky, from Sudbury, Ontario 6 September 2011

What a wonderful three night stay we had at Willow Shores. Charlene and Gord were very gracious and accommodating hosts providing us with great information on the island, places to eat and wonderful fun conversations. The views at all times of the day from the deck or from inside the dining and living rooms are gorgeous.

We met other great guests during our stay here as well. We will certainly return.

- Karen and Chris, from Kitchener, Ontario 3 September 2011

This was a great B&B! Charlene and Gord made us feel instantly welcome, the room (Autumn room) and the shared space were beautiful and comfortable. We especially enjoyed Charlene's help and tips of spots to see on the Island and recommending great places to eat. The grounds are gorgeous and we appreciated being able to use the canoe. Thank you for the great stay!

- Anonymous, from Oshawa, Ontario 15 August 2011

We can't say enough of how much we enjoyed our short stay at Willow Shores B&B. Charlene and Gord made our stay so enjoyable. From the campfire to the conversation to the delicous breakfast. It is one stop we look forward to going again and again.

- Bob & Bonnie Decan, from Dresden, Ontario 15 August 2011

Our time on the island was very short. Willow Shores made every minute just perfect. The Gorman's hospitality and knowledge helped us greatly! We will definitely return, and spend much more time there!

- Julie & Jason Willis, from Mapleton, MN 4 August 2011

Thank you so much Charlene for your generosity and hospitality. We truly enjoyed staying there with the other guest's. It was almost like home away from home. We hope to return again with the kids some day as you have a beautiful spot. And thanks for a great breakfast! We all enjoyed our stay!

- Tammy and Larry Lane, from Waterloo, ON 11 July 2011

Thanks so much Charlene and Gord, for making our 2nd stay at your place once again unforgettable! My mom and I truly felt pampered and enjoyed your company very much. Although all of your guest rooms are wonderful and cozy, I have to admit that the "Music Room" is now my absolute favorite! It's not only the comfortable bed, the really spacious room, the large bathroom, the lovely decoration, or the private balcony, but also the awesome lake view. Charlene, you cook delicious breakfast and everything is prepared with lots of love. Gord, thanks again for going out on the lake in the kayaks with me, that was really fun!

You run an outstanding B&B and provide excellent service. Your hospitality and friendship are incredible, and it's always sad to leave you. I hope to see you soon again and spend some more wonderful time with you. Thank you!!

- Helga & Karin, from Regensburg, Germany 6 June 2011

No hotel would go this far to ensure you have an enjoyable stay! I recently spent most of a week in Manitowaning at the Willow Shores B an B. Not only was the food better than what can be found at the local restaurants, but hearing Gord and Charlene speak of the local history and culture over dinner or breakfast helped us to understand the area. I needed to urgently return back to the south, leaving the vehicle with the team I came up with. Charlene found a ride for me on very short notice, sent me off with a lunch, and even a hug when she could see my situation was getting to me. (don't tell Gord!) Special thanks to Bonnie and Brian for getting me on my way. I hope to be back one day!

A stay here, should not be missed!

This was close to if not the finest of our vacation stays, for comfort (breath taking view), convenience (close to attractions) and the food provided (homemade muffins are delicious along with everything else Charlene cooked).

We enjoyed the great conversations during our 3 night stay in the music room and felt right at home and that we had known our hosts Charlene & Gord for years.

We very much appreciated your hospitality and will be back for our next trip to the island.

Thank you again for everything

- Pat, Rick & Lisa Geiger, from Kitchener, Ontario 3 October 2010

Charlene and Gord, we thank you so much for the most comfortable stay in your house. This is a beautiful location which we will keep in our minds. We enjoyed your hospitality, not to forget those phantastic breakfasts very much!

- Monika and Gunther, from Germany 10 September 2010

Thank you Charlene and Gord for making us feel truly welcome and pampered. We enjoyed our four night stay during early August tremendously. You have ensured the comfort of your guests with great attention to detail and very comfortable beds. We stayed in both the Ships Room and Music Room and had great sleeps. The different breakfasts every day were delicious and plentiful. Our hosts went above and beyond with assistance and kind gestures, even offering to drive us to and fro a wedding we were attending about 30 minutes away. We wholeheartedly recommend this B & B to all guests. Thanks Charlene and Gord !

- Andrea & Ed, from Toronto, Canada 18 August 2010

Thanks Gord and Charlene for a wonderful stay at Willow Shores with our Canadian friends, Joan and Art. Your hospitality was outstanding. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived, and those muffins! Wow! Breakfasts were amazing - we don't know how we managed to eat them all but we did! And thanks for all the local advice, and the fishing Gord. On our last evening we had a great bar-b-q which started with just the four of us but grew to 12 with you, your friends, and other guests. What a lovely evening and what a lovely way to end our stay with you. We so much hope that we can cross the pond again some day and stay with you on Manitoulin.

- Martyn & Barbara Jaggard, from Clifton, Beds, England 1 August 2010

Thanks for a great weekend with lots of laughs, conversations and tasty breakfasts'., and yes, supper on Sat. evening. Charlene, we would like you to know that your sister & Mom are great hosts and we were made to feel so welcome.

- the 'Hills', from Bruce Peninsula, On 16 July 2010

Hello Both, The time has flown by since our return from our trip - that is however no excuse for letting you know how much we enjoyed our stay with you. Of all the places we stayed whist in Canada, we all agree we felt the most relaxed whilst with you both. We will always remember your hospitality and the incedible way you made us feel at home from the minute we arrived at your home. Best Regards Karen, Rod, Bob and Betty.

- Anonymous, from England 14 July 2010

When you leave Willow Shores you don't leave just a wonderful and peaceful place, you don't leave just the most beautiful bedroom you could imagine with it's own balcony, you don't leave the place where breakfast is every day delicious - you leave the most precious experience of hospitality and friendship, of interesting conversations and of lots of jokes and laughter, you leave unforgettable friends! Charlene and Gord are perfect hosts - but they are a lot more than just hosts!

Staying for 3 nights at Willow Shores was a fabulous experience for us. Charlene and Gord, our hosts, were very welcoming and we imediately felt very comfortable and at home. We stayed in the 'music room', a very large, luxurious room with ensuite which had an exquisite view of Manitowaning Bay in all its fall splendour. The king-sized bed had separate controls for massage and adjusting head or feet. The bed was very comfortable and felt like sleeping on a cloud. The room also had a small fridge, which was a nice feature. The fresh muffins every morning for beakfasts were delicious. My husband still raves about the eggs benedict, and my favourite was the blueberry pancakes. We definitely did not need lunch as Charlene sent extra muffins along with us for the day. I walked down to the lake enjoying the fall colours and jogged back up to the house with Shadow, their dog, as I needed the exercise after all the delicious food. The 'mustgo' buffet on Saturday night was just awesome.

- Chris & Irma Lenz, from Bright, Ontario 19 October 2009

We stayed at Willow Shores B&B on Manitoulin Island for a week in September 2009. The B&B is a large house located on the shore of a bay of Lake Huron. There are three rooms (but more may be added in the future if business conditions permit): one large room with a view of the lake and an ensuite bathroom and two smaller rooms with private bathrooms close by. The room we stayed in (the chief's room)had a small (but very convenient) refrigerator.

During the busy season, the owners sleep in an adjacent motor home, giving the guests full use of the house, which is not always the case in a B&B. There are no TVs in the rooms (which, personally I think is an advantage as it cuts down considerably on noise) but there is a (very) large TV in the living room with a satellite hookup and a library of DVDs.

The B&B is only a short distance from highway 6, which is the main highway on the island. Highway noise is not a concern because the B&B is far enough away and there is very little traffic on the highway. The location makes the B&B very convenient from both the north access to the island (over a bridge to Little Current) and the south access (via a ferry from Tobermory to South Baymouth).

Guests have access to a paddle boat, two kayaks and a canoe. Everything you need, life jackets, oars, etc is provided. The bay is quite sheltered and so the water is often calm enough for novice canoers. I hadn't been in an canoe for many years, but we had very little trouble.

The owners, Gord and Charlene, provide simply outstanding service with a personal touch. They are very knowledgeable about the island and are an excellent source of advice about local restaurants and sights. The breakfasts are outstanding and are large enough that you may not need lunch. Gord and Charlene made an effort to get to know us and made us feel very welcome in their home, treating us as guests rather merely as customers. There is a dog, named Shadow, who is quite well behaved and very friendly. If you like dogs at all, she is quite a lot of fun.

This is one of the best B&B's we have stayed in. We would definitely go back. I almost hesitate to post this review because I'd like to keep this place a secret. Gord and Charlene however work hard and deserve success. I'm happy to help them out by letting everyone know what a good job they are doing.

Last week we came back after 4 weeks Canada. We enjoyed the beautifulnature, the cities, but especially the friendliness of the Canadian peoplewe met. In particular our staying in your Bed and Breakfast was one of themost pleasing experiences of our holiday. Your hospitality was extraordinarily. The beautiful room, the delightfullybreakfast and your welcome and conversations made our holiday unforgettable. Once again many, many thanks. Maybe we see each other in the future, who knows when and where. Best wishes,Ans and Renz van Luxemburg

Thank you so very much for the wonderful service and great accomodations we received on arrival and throughout our stay on your island. Our family had a wonderful time, your attention to detail and care exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend Willow Shores to anyone planning to visit the island and will be staying with you upon our return. We hope you are all doing well and again thank you so very much for a great getaway, beautiful views and utmost care in facilitating our needs with multiple children in tow!

Willow Shores is as relaxing and comfortable as our own home, thanks to the hospitality of hosts Gord and Charlene. They were very knowledgeable about both the area's attractions and history, making conversations easy and enjoyable. The house is beautiful, second only to the views offered from the property. As first-time bed and breakfast guests, we enjoyed the home, experience, food, and conversations. I would recommend Willow Shores to anyone who is looking for a personalized and special experience.

Charlene & Gord, I must compliment you on the warmth and hospitality that you offer at Willow Shores. After spending a week with you it was difficult to pry myself away. The way you open your home, provide such healthy, delicious comfort food, and the relaxing surroundings make for a delightful holiday! Your "Eggs Benedict" will always be remembered! If you are looking for a place of rest and solitude you'll find it at "Willow Shores"!

Great time! Gord and Charlene were great hosts, and couldn't have treated us with more generousity or kindness. We arrived at dinner time, Charlene immediately offered us a seat at the table. The room we stayed in was the Music room, and it had a beautiful view and serene sense within it. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and ready whenever we were. Everything was made fresh and from scratch. Took the paddle boat out at night, on a cool clear night. Gord was helpful in getting us out and in on the dock. If traveling to the Island again, I would definitely stay here!

We spent a delightful week at Willow Shores and give it top marks among the many B&B's we have visited. The quiet, scenic setting, the warm hospitality, the good food and spotlessly clean rooms all add up to a very comfortable stay. The bed was most comfortable as well. Lots of room available for reading, board games and relaxing. Hats off to Charlene and Gord, our congenial and welcoming hosts.

A little late in our review - My husband and I stayed with Charlene and Gord Gorman in July 2008. This was our first B&B experience and to be honest, we were a little nervous and wondered if we should have booked a hotel, but all that changed from the moment we arrived on the Friday evening. Charlene greeted us at the entrance and made us feel welcome right away. Our accommodations were luxourious. We had the large room, a private deck with a breath taking view of the water and beautifully groomed yard. We had dinner in Little Creek about a 20 minute drive from Willow Shores. A great meal followed by a romantic walk along the marina. Saturday brought a little more sightseeing. Charlene and Gord certainly made us feel more than welcome. You were treated like family. Charlene is an amazing chef and breakfast has never tasted so good. I can tell you 2 days was not nearly long enough, and we plan to return again.

We too! Had a wonderful stay at Willow Shores. Carlene, Gord and there grandson Justin went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay enjoyable. They say good things come in three's ( Carlenes cooking, very clean home, and there hospitality ) make you not want to ever leave. If you do not have the fortune of staying at Willow Shores SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK!! Hats of to you both Carlene & Gord.

We stayed at Willow Shores recently en route to Sault Ste Marie and the Agawa Canyon. What a lovely spot! Beautiful and restful as advertised. We enjoyed Charlene's tasteful and interesting decor -- note especially the photos of musical instruments in the Music Room and the archival photos along the hallway. A delicious home-cooked breakfast completed our stay. We highly recommend this B&B -- but stay for more than one night!

Thanks for the hospitality.

We recently sold our cottage on Manitoulin Island, were missing the wonderful ambience and friendly people, so returned for a visit. Willow Shores is like a second home. Charlene and Gord are hosts extraordinaire. People who have never met before quickly become an extended family. Accommodations are tasteful and immaculate. The location is central to all of Manitoulin Island.Charlene is a wonderful cook. All in all, a great place to stay.

My wife, father (95), and I have just returned to Virginia having recently spent two nights at the wonderfully restful and exceptionally comfortable B&B run by Charlene and Gord Gorman. The owners live adjacent - the "feel" is that of staying at a friend's home. Table conversation among all the guests at breakfast or the optional dinner was that of friends newly made. Charlene thinks of everything and anticipates your needs. There are tables outdoors to read/write/relax. Bring your water shoes and walk off the deck/dock to swim. Meals are excellent! Location/view/care/relaxation - BRAVO. Would return tomorrow!

We didn't want to leave. Charlenes' hospitality is the finest I have ever had the priveledge of experiencing. The accomodations are quiet, clean, exceptionally comfortable, The view is spectacular. The breakfast was outstanding. We felt like old friends with Charlene. We will be anticipating our return. Kudos to you Charlene and Gord. You have a home away from home.

We just returned from a trip to Canada and our stay at willow shores. it has to be the cleanest place we ever stayed. Our king bed was very comfortable and Charlene was a great host, easy to visit with and knew the island well. While willow shores is quite small (3 rooms) It is quiet and the view of the water is relaxing. Great breakfast too!

We just returned from Willow Shores Bed & Breakfast on Manitoulin Island after staying 3 nights. This is a beautiful, restful place to enjoy the lakeview and surroundings. Charlene our host is an outstanding host providing us with a very immaculate place to stay, lounge on the deck and take in the lakeview or lounge in the great room. The large full breakfast will leave you not wanting lunch. Charlene is the type of person who makes you feel her home is your home. It was our 1st experience to stay in a bed & breakfast after 31 years of travelling to many destinations in North America and we highly recommend staying at Willow Shores. We will definitely return.Thank youJan & Gene Groff
