A superior BB where comfort and artistic surroundings come first.

A charming and concerned hostess in Nicola Jowett make for a memorable stay in Haliburtpn.

My wife and I stayed here in 2015 when we were enrolled at the Art School. We absolutely loved the B & B, the location, the breakfasts and our host, Nicola! The B & B is located a 10 or 12 minute walk from the centre of the village and restaurants, the grocery store and other shops.

Nicola takes pride in having her B & B spotless and arranging a variety of breakfasts for people who are staying for a week at a time for the Art School. She allows guests to BBQ and/or use the kitchen for dinners; of course cleaning up afterward is for the guests.

There are sitting areas outside for lingering over beverages in the evening or coffee in the morning - provided you are not enrolled in Art School. We enjoyed conversations with each other, other guests, and Nicola. We did not take our electronics as we wanted to escape while in Haliburton. So I do not know if wifi is available - I recommend leaving the e-devices at home and immersing in the life of the village and the region.

I was going to stay again this year, but my health prevented me from doing so. However, my brothers-in-law took my booking and are now enjoying the hospitality and charm of the B & B and Nicola

After a 30 year lull, it was great to be back in Halliburton to find a becoming town with an excellent B&B just off the main road. Nicola was a perfect host and has done a great job on this historic house with an eye for detail. Very comfy and a great breakfast to boot. Will go back just for the coffee alone!

I'd never been to Haliburton; saw photos of "Heritage House" and decided to book a weekend stay. I was not disappointed! It made my trip so much more enjoyable. The property was clean, charming, rustic, beautifully decorated with Nicola's eye for detail (from extra facecloths, q-tips, makeup remover pads in old apothecary-like jars in the bathroom to books, dvds, and thick fluffy towels). My corner room was light, bright with double windows, a super comfortable bed and luxurious bed linens to sink into; a "home away from home". The Heritage House Cafe was warm and inviting, with well-placed kitschy antiques and knick-knacks; the coffee, tea, croissants, desserts were absolutely delicious! (Didn't miss Starbuck's at all.) Terrific ambience and perfect for just chilling and enjoying a good read or the cosy fire with friends on a cold day. I would highly recommend Heritage House as a perfect place to stay whether you're looking for privacy on a romantic weekend getaway or pleasant, friendly, caring attention during your northern adventure in beautiful Ontario. And, the wi-fi made it easy to keep in touch with home, friends and the planet. An easy, picturesque drive and a lucky, amazing find!
