Nannette and Gerry were amazing from start to finish. Poor Nannette waited up for us to arrive later than we expected (Day 2 of driving Fort McMurray - we left from Russell Manitoba that morning). We got a great tour of their beautiful home. Thoroughly enjoyed our suite room. With amazing bed, TV, leather couch. The Jacuzzi tub and plush bathrobes were incredible after the 14 hour drive. We woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, the most wonderful breakfast spread you could imagine; homemade muffins, yogurt/fruit, fresh juices. And eggs and all the trimmings. Even our little pup Remington found a playmate and a forever friend in their dog Baxter. I am so sad it was such a quick visit but I would 100% recommend anyone to stay at Island Shores and I look forward to staying there down the road.

My wife and I were taking a much-modified circle tour of Lake Superior during July 2017 for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We spent the evening of July 18 at Island Shores BB. It was a great place to stay. Nan and Gerry had a full house that night and there was good conversation in the living room and on the porch that evening and around the breakfast table the next morning. Nan and Gerry surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine for our 50th Anniversary. Delightful! Breakfast was great. If you are traveling along the North Shore stay at Island Shores. You won't be disappointed.

Spent two nights at this wonderful Bed & Breakfast! The hosts were very friendly and we felt right at home. We enjoyed our interaction with the other guests. The breakfasts were very tasty. Definitely an enjoyable stay!

We had been camping/kayaking and decided to spend a few nights indoors in comfort. WOW....did we get comfort. Nannette and Gerry have a BEAUTIFUL home and are 2 of the nicest, most helpful people you could meet. They were full of tips on where to go and what to see. We mentioned wanting to see the islands and they set us up with a fantastic boat tour. They know every beach and trail and time frames for making day trips. We had an unbelievable time kayaking Pukaskwa, an easy day trip from their home. Gerry's breakfasts were absolutely fantastic and we had so much fun meeting other guests and talking around the breakfast table. The Serendipity Gardens Café just down the street had great dinners. Looking forward to returning with family. Thanks so much. A+++

Island Shores was my first B&B experience on my Circle Tour of Lake Superior--October 3 and day 6 into a three-week adventure. Nannette and Gerry made it memorable in every way and supplied many tips about what was coming and what I'd already passed and would be worth backtracking to see. I'll forever be grateful for their advice.

The B&B is a lovely and welcoming place, the decor of my room and the house simply filled with eye-catching art and cultural surprises such as The Ashley Book of Knots. This is a comfortable space for the solo traveler and I recommend it unreservedly.

Staying in Island Shores was an ultimate Canadian experience! Nannette and Gerry are kindest hosts and made us feel at home! Not to mention the great tips and info they shared with us on the region!!! The guest house is extremely clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated, so many thoughtful details to provide comfort for the guests ! A delicious full breakfast is served at 8:30 am, don't miss it!!!! This place is a gem in the region!!!

Lovely location, attentive owners, delicious breakfast, and a cozy and attractive room. What a jewel!

ABOVE EXPECTATIONS The owner/operators (Gerry and Nannette) are both retired teachers who know how to treat their customers properly, like family! The stay was enjoyable in every way. Gerry (the cook) made a large GOURMET breakfast for the six of us that had stayed the night before. The reason I titled this "Above Expectations" is not only because everything about our stay was great and the breakfast was gourmet, but because after breakfast Gerry drove his car about 12 miles, to a Park where he knew we were stopping, to deliver a coat that we had forgotten in the bedroom when we left. At the Park he ran down over 100 steps to deliver the coat personally rather than just leave it on our car. Then he ran off before we could properly thank him. I believe he considered the "special delivery" a normal part his B&B services. Green Bay Couple

This is the BEST B&B we have ever stayed at! We do 3 trips a year on our motorcycle and visit Stratford at least once a season, we have stayed in many fine B&B's, but Island Shores tops the list! Nannette and Gerry are the most welcoming and warm hosts we have ever met and the Voyageur Room is comfy, homey and luxurious all rolled into one!! We will be back. Very highly recommended.

My three days in the Voyageur Room (more like a luxurious mini suite) were a complete pleasure, enhanced by original art work & tasteful decor. My hosts, Nannette & Gerry, prepared delicious & generous gourmet breakfasts, while providing detailed information about local attractions. All of this in one of the most scenic parts of Lake Superior!

Due to an unexpected delay we found Island Shores - and we are happy about it. We´ve got not only an excellent accommodation, but also a delicious and substantial breakfast. We thank you for your inspiring travel advices to explore some hidden places along the Trans Canada. Great !

We felt so lucky to have been able to stay at this gem of a B & B. What a most beautiful and restful home on the shores of Lake Superior. Wow! Our hosts were gracious, knowledgeable and welcoming and the breakfast was definitely gourmet (Gerry's savory specialty). If 5 stars is the highest rating, we would give Gerry and Nannette's Island Shores B & B a rating of 10!

Gerry & Nannette - we really enjoyed Island Shores in Rossport! Your gregarious personalities, your helpfulness in our travel plans and the most gourmet breakfast we have had in the B&Bs across Canada were fabulous! Loved our room with its many books and wish we had had more time with you. Thank you; we will recommend you to anyone we know travelling the Northern Superior Route.

- The Dicksons, from Kamloops, BC 7 September 2010

Beautiful views of Lake Superior and the beach from the private balcony! Amazing gourmet breakfast of your choice, lovely hostess and affordable! I will certainly return to this oasis on the coast of Superior.

- Ange Jewett, from Thunder Bay, Ontario 24 June 2010

This place is amazing! There is something beautiful to see everywhere in this gorgeous house. Excellent gourmet breakfasts, good conversation, very comfortable bed in Voyageur room, absolutely breathtaking view of stars at night-we are so glad we stopped. A truly restorative stay on a week long journey around Lake Superior. Thank you so much for opening your home to travellers and for the wealth of information you provided to us for the rest of our journey.

The Voyageur Room is spectacular, as is the location. We had a lovely though short stay, and may return someday. Thanks again! P.S. I think I remember having you as the music teacher when I played handbells at Isaac Brock!

- Kate & Uwe Baumann, from Grenada, West Indies 29 September 2008

We have the best memories of our overnight stay in the luxurious Voyageur Room of this very beautiful house. The great choice of books and DVDs in the room was a pleasant surprise. The evening walk along the Lake Superior shores, the delicious breakfast and the long morning conversation with the wonderful hosts are unforgettable. We wished we could stay longer!
