Edition
42: January 8, 2004
In
the 42nd issue of the Bed and Breakfast Traveller, we take you
to the Georgian Triangle region of Ontario, where the winter is as festive
as all the other seasons.
WINTER
INTERLUDES
When
winter comes to Mountain Blue
Anticipation builds -
When will those ski slopes open up?
When can we schuss those hills?
There's
snow for snowmen and snow for boards,
And some for shovelling, too;
But mostly snow for flying down
On fancy skies brand new.
For
quietude, cross-country trails
Are very close at hand.
But for the snowmobiler types
A torchlight parade is grand.
Skating
is a family treat
When bundled up and cozy,
Then follow up with beaver tails,
Hot chocolate, and nose rosy!
The
Festive Season comes in a rush
With all the joys of Christmas -
Tree lighting, shopping, The Journey of Love -
Worth every ounce of fuss.
You
catch your breath, then New Year's Eve
Requires your rapt attention.
And oh, the spots to have your fun -
Too numerous to mention.
Dogsled
races and Winterfest
Are here for your enjoyment;
Sleigh rides, concerts, dinners and dance -
The best for money spent.
Young
hearts delight on Valentine's Day
To join in celebration.
And then it's Pancake Breakfast time
At dozens of locations.
If
winter blues do get you down
Don't be a lonely mourner,
The Georgian Triangle soothes the blues,
And Spring's around the corner!
