Our Capitol Theatre, one of the oldest operating atmospheric theatres
in Ontario, is currently undergoing a massive renovation and expansion
project. Due to reopen in November, The original theatre space will
be returned to its original 1930's splendor, while the addition will
house improved washroom facilities, along with office and dressing room
space, and a second venue for rehearsals, workshops, and intimate theatre

The fall is coming alive with fall colours and events to interest all
age groups. Our annual Fall Fair (currently our 172nd) is held every
year on the 2nd weekend in September. Experience an old fashion country
fair with all the agriculture and livestock, along with many contests
for baking, quilting, crafts etc. The exciting midway and other events
are sure to please everyone.
The
2nd annual All Canadian Jazz Festival is set to go on September 19-21.
An impressive line up of some of the best on the Canadian Jazz scene,
along with some amazingly talented newcomers will have you dancing in

Also that weekend is the annual Northumberland Hills Studio Tour. This
free event is a must for anyone who enjoys the wonderful creativity

The Fall fishing season is kicking of with the annual fish run up the
Ganaraska River. Fishermen line the banks of the river hoping to catch
the salmon and trout as they make their way to the spawning grounds.
