FAQ 73:
How do I setup Mail Forwarding if I'm using BBCanada to host my mail?
If you are at an internet cafe, you can simply go to our mail server (on the web) and tell it to forward your mail.
Mail Forwarding is a very popular feature for subscribers who travel. Normally they would use POP3 email to retrieve their emails at home. However, when they travel, many people wish to have their emails forwarded to a web based email system (like hotmail, yahoo mail) so that they can login to their web based email system on the web and check their emails.
Here is how you setup mail forwarding for BBCanada mail subscribers:
- Click on this link: http://mail.bbcanada.com
- Type in your entire email address example: info@brasslantern.ca
- Type in your BBDUG password, example ABCDEF in all upper case, in the password box (click here to have your BBDUG password emailed to you)
- Click on the 'authenticate' button to login
Once you are logged into our mail server, click on 'select mail delivery method'
Once on that screen, simply add any email address to the box that says 'forwarding'
Click on the 'submit' button. Voila, you're done.
All emails from your email address, example info@brasslantern.ca, will be forwarded to that address in the forwarding box.
Of course, when you're done travelling, login the same way and then remove the email address from the forwarding box.
