Festivals

Annual events and festivals start the story, the World’s largest Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira, the Waterloo County and Area Quilt Festival and North America’s largest Bavarian Festival “Oktoberfest” are just a few of the unique experiences this region has to offer.

Add Uptown Waterloo’s Busker Carnival and the nearby Wellesley Apple Butter Festival and the year in Waterloo Region really offers something for everyone.

Art, Theatre, and Music

If you enjoy art galleries, theatre and music you won’t want to miss the many artistic, theatrical and musical productions presented throughout the year. Just a few of the options include The Registry Theatre, Peter Etril Snyder Studio, our local symphony and world-class guest artistes at the acoustically acclaimed Centre in the Square.

If you prefer your culture a little less formal, how about a summer full of weekend music festivals designed to get you dancing in the street?

Shopping

For those who love to shop, our farmers’ markets, antique shops, outlet malls and artisans’ craft exhibitions will keep you happily busy with a wealth of unique purchases to be made.

The nearby Village of St Jacobs infuses the entire region with the culture, heritage and values of a bygone age as our Mennonite community share their goods and services.

Sports and Activities

Add world class golf courses, great fishing, canoeing, hiking and trail riding along our beautiful Grand River and Waterloo Region really does offer it all.

How better to plan your stay in this unique beauty spot than with the help, experience and local knowledge of one of the Region’s B&Bs?
