We loved our stay at the Tanner's Inn! We had such awesomely friendly hosts. The place itself was beautifully decorated and maintained. I definitely agree with one of the reviews below that it feels like a home away from home. The rooms were spacious with lovely beds with a private washroom. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of getting a hotel room to go for the Tanner's Inn instead! You'll love it as we certainly did!

Thank you Mercer and Terry for a wonderful stay at you beautiful Tanners Home Inn. The spacious Dining Room with all of its special touches was just perfect. Terry your seafood omelet was amazing and your decorating is extraordinairy. We really enjoyed our breakfast conversation with Mercer and the other lovely guests. We hope to return soon to your warm and inviting home and get to stay a bit longer next time.

Thank you again!

We stayed at the Tanners Home for what was to be one night, but we felt so much at home that we had to stay one more. The warmth and ambience is coupled with rich history and beautiful surroundings not to mention the great hosts and staff. We highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I stayed here in August 2005 and 2008 on our way home to the US from Nova Scotia. Both times we managed to arrive to the Inn quite late, but we were greeted very warmly. Our stay was comfortable, and I can not say enough about breakfast. Wow! Just delicious and your certainly won't go hungry. We always meant to get on the road right after breakfast, but we have enjoyed sitting around and talking to the owners and the other guests.

This summer we hope to come back and actually spend some time in St. John.

A beautiful home with attentive informative hosts. Thanks Terry and Mercer.

Lucky me, to have found the Tanners Home Inn for our stay in St John. The spacious downstairs suite at Tanners was just right for the three of us and our two nights there were very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were great ... as were the added treats. Thank you Terry, and Bismarck, for your wonderful hospitality and attentive care. "Anything to make it perfect," said Terry ... and it was.

During our trip in June 2008, we stayed in many B&B places. But this one was outstanding: the kindness of Terry and Mercer, the rooms with all these nice little details, the service... Just great.

We enjoyed our stay at Tanners in September 2008. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful car trip through much of Eastern Canada. We enjoyed meeting both Terry and Mercer and partaking in a wonderful breakfast. Our four legged child, Mai Lei, felt very comfortable with Bismarck. Thanks so much for your gracious hospitality.

My husband and I have stayed here twice, August 2003 and August 2008. We had wonderful experiences, especially having good conversations with the owners and guests. The breakfast is delicious! They have also been very accommodating when we have arrived late at night.

- Kristina Van Name, from Cherry Hill, NJ November 29, 2008

Had a wonderful 3 night stay in September, 2008. Great food, gracious hosts and of course, Bismarck!!

Hope we get the opportunity to come your way again and stay.

We feel so privledged to have stayed with Mercer and Terry during the non hurricane Josephine recently. This home is full of antiques and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. From Bismark the dog, to Jane who taught me to use the laundry facilities, this is without any doubt the very best place to spend and non hurricane in the world. We enjoyed our stay so much that it was almost disappointing to wake to find no power failures as this meant we had to carry on with our discovery of New Brunswick. We would recommend this as a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed here in Sept 2008. We loved everything about this place. Terry and Mercer are the warmest, most hospitable people imagineable. We have stayed at numerous places where the standard of accommodation was good, but none that had the atmosphere of Tanners, which proves that people make the difference. We were also won over by Bismark the German Shepherd. The Rose Room is beautifully decorated and the bed was divine. The breakfasts were generous and hearty and the blueberry pancakes sensational. The location is perfect with the city and harbour within easy walking distance. If you are going to St John, don't stay anywhere else. Thanks again, Terry and Mercer - we'll be back

My husband and I found this wonderful place using our GPS. What a stroke of luck. Terry and Mercer Munn are two of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever meet. The staff are just as delightful.

The rooms are large. Not only is the home beautiful but it is also immaculate. The breakfasts were a gastronomical delight. The inn is within walking distance of the harbour, restaurants and shopping. We stayed an extra night because we loved this B&B and its hosts so much. On our way back home we even rethought our route so we could go back for an extra night. Staying here was not like staying at an inn. It was like staying with family. I will recommend this place to anyone going to St. John.

My wife and I stayed for one night in August 2008 during our summer trip. First things first, Terry and Mercer are amazing hosts, they are so friendly and helping that you never feel that you are staying in hotel. They will make you feel at home. They are more than happy to tell you about the history of the city and give you details about the city. The house is so beautiful and rooms are just excellent. They are big, neat and clean, and provide all the amenities you need. I strongly recommend the travellers to book this hotel when you visit Saint John

- Srinivas, from Montreal August 29, 2008

I stayed at the Tanners Home Inn during a trip to NB in 2002. I hadn't even had a reservation - just knocked on the door and Terry took me in! What a stroke of luck! It was a wonderful experience. I even stayed in St. John an extra day just to enjoy the ambience.

Rarely have I met such nice people. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality B&B in St John.

- Larry, from New York City, NY June 3, 2008

I have travelled many miles, to many places adn stayed in a number of B&B's. However, I have not been treated as well as at Tanners Home. Terry and Mercer are wonderful people. It was like coming home to great friends. A great weekend in Saint John. I will be back to visit again
